They took the entire first run of 13 episodes to get through that first landing? How many seasons did they think they would get, considering that travel times would get longer and longer as they toured the solar system?

Gotta wonder? Were they trying to get the show cancelled prematurely so that they could become a cult classic like Firefly or Crusade?

I read those synopses and had the same reaction. I was surprised to see that they're going the slow burn route with Venus. It does make sense though, they have to spend some time there. If the show continues, maybe they'll skip over a lot of the space travel to get to the other planets, and having seen 1x09, I hope it does continue. A lot was revealed and the show took a big turn. I want to see what happens down the line now more than ever.

Anyways wanted to talk about the last episode couple interesting questions/comments:

- christina cox's character doesn't feel guilt/see Beta
- Beta = guilt
- Could the other lifeforms = other emotions
- What happens when you collect them all?
- What's so special about Eve, why did Beta call out to her?

Show is getting really interesting. Such a shame to see it go though.

Guilt would be most likely mistaken for sloth or pride possibly?

Or is it perhaps that we are talking about the seven seals of the Revelation of Saint John?

Oh my. Just because I saw that Demi Moore movie about the end of days, is the death of the innocent going to be when they finally pput down the Bunny?

Eve's monologue was the most monotonous one I've ever heard. It kind of dragged the episode down. Interesting that Jen doesn't see the thing, wonder what that means.

You should qualify that with "early Lost". Once they had a definitive end point known, it's like they went into overdrive on that show.

Yeah, and I'm about ready for Paula to be tossed out the airlock.

But I did rather like that moment when Goss says "its shape and movement are mathematically fractal," and Nadia & Paula look over at the now-important Wass with expressions that say, "Uhhhh, maybe I shouldn't have been giving him such crap all this time."

Nice that Wass finally knows his purpose on the mission, but I hope his ego doesn't inflate much more: If the story about how he first learned about sex is any indication, he's gonna be even more open about his porn addiction than he already is. Or maybe not.

I'm just wondering if he's a more together guy when he isn't on undetectable narcotics? But how the hell is he supposed to theorize about the universe with his third eye shut?

I think a big problem with this show was the casting. There's a lot of dull and uninspired actors on it. They're all cool when they have others to work off of, but on their own they're just kind of there. That and the fact that the show places a lot of emphasis on those characters just drives that fact home all the more.

But now that the story has actually been introduced to the audience, it has a lot of promise. It even explains the title and opening sequence a bit better. I think the only thing that made me go o.O was the fact that they're going to visit Pluto. Kind of silly, that.

As the crow flies, relatively. Maybe around 38-39 AU, with their closest approaches being around 23 and the farthest being around 58 (at least within the next century or two, which is as far forward as I bothered to take it in Celestia). However, it's in the wrong direction, which is just as important in orbital mechanics. What's important to keep in mind is that the planets are moving targets; when you're rendezvousing with a planet, you're not coming to a stop at a fixed point, but matching velocity with something that's moving pretty damn fast through space. From the perspective of a ship moving along with Saturn's orbital motion, Pluto would be just about exactly in the opposite direction. It would take a hell of a lot of energy for the ship to cancel out that motion, accelerate in the opposite direction (while resisting the pull of the Sun's gravity), get all the way out to Pluto, then cancel out all that forward velocity and accelerate roughly perpendicular to that to match Pluto's speed and direction of motion. It would be far more efficient to go the long way -- decelerate just enough to get into a cometary orbit, slingshot around the Sun, and head out for Pluto -- but that would be a much longer trip.

Latest episode was pretty good. Wish they had moved things along a little faster, so that these would have continued to be available here! Hell, seems like half of this shit should have been introduced in the pilot, or the 2nd episode at the latest...

God tell me about it. I was sooo bored with that. And the acting of her "struggling" was so effing boring.

I really hope we get to see what they had planned for this show in their 6 year arc. I'm not really an optimist but this show had a lot of neat factors going for it and sad to see it lost for another season of DWTS or some reality drivel. At the same time they did renew Dollhouse so anything is possible.
