Deep Space Nine Relaunch

Margaret Clark's plan was to jump forward permanently and maybe fill in the gap gradually later on. But she's no longer the editor, so there's no telling what the new editor's plans will be. However, I doubt a return to the former status quo is likely.

Who IS editing the books now? Or do we even know?

They haven't announced any of next year's trades. So there's a very slight chance we could get more DS9R next year.

DS9 was announced to the world in January 1992, my last day in the USA before heading home. So 2112 makes it a DS9 anniversary year.

IIRC, authors can still pitch an idea for a DS9 now-backstory to the current timeline. They don't have to wait for the editor to devise how retro-history novels turn out, just catch their attention with a plot no one can resist.

Last we heard, Jaime Costas (scroll down at:
http://imprints.simonandschuster.biz/gallery ), although someone said she was returning from maternity leave and that things were still in a bit of a state of flux, IIRC. Dayton ward is listed as one of her authors. Ed Schlesinger is listed as an editor of CBS Consumer Products' authors. Jen Heddle, who's worked on ST previously, lists media tie-ins as an interest.

"Gallery Books combines the Pocket Books hardcover and trade paperbacks, and Simon Spotlight Entertainment imprint into one larger and more powerful imprint."
