If I had to have a dog, I would want this one:

I'd find it more convincing if we actually saw the television set. Otherwise, my first thought is the music is dubbed and it's all a fake.

Never thought I'd be analyzing this video but...It's real. At about 35 seconds you can see the reflection of a white flash on the sheets (left side of the video). That's the same point where there's a big white flash in the opening credits. And that would be something too subtle for an amateur to try and fake.

Very true, now that you mention it. I was first thinking it was fake, as well.

Because sheets are such reflective materials. And nothing else similarly lit up so even if the tv was somehow that mega bright... I call fake.

Yeah, not everything needs to be analyzed to death. Dogs react to all kinds of crap, so I love that anyone thinks this needed to be faked somehow. :D

One time I walked in from the kitchen, was distracted by something on the television before I sat down (a baseball game I think), and my dog reacted to a freshly prepared sandwich that was within reach of her mouth while I was still holding it. So I made myself another sandwich. That was about 45 years ago.

Then there was the cat who always tried to pull a fried chicken leg out of my hand.

Wow. I just thought it was a cute video. Tough crowd.

I think it's adorable. My dog used to love watching television with me. She liked DS9, but TNG was her favorite show, at least from gauging her reaction. :D

Aw, I liked it.

And anyway, maybe the DOG isn't real, or the blanket, or even the BED! Any of you guys ever think of that?

I'll leave you to discuss.

I don't think it's fake. If the camera is set to a higher ISO rating, then it will be more sensitive to light. This could easily make it appear that the ambient light is brighter than it really is. The flash of light from the TV screen would be easily noticeable in the sheets.

And the light would not necessarily be visible in other parts of the frame. If the screen is only a little way off to the side of the image, then it would be close enough to light up the sheets, yet still be far enough away to not light anything else up.

I'm speaking from years of experience as a photographer, setting up lights and all that. I don't see anything in here that's fake, and everything I see is entirely consistent with my significant experience with light.

So different sheets have different ambient light reflectivity? Because the sheet over the dog uniformly didn't "reflect" the light. Yet the bed sheet further away still did. Even parts the lumped up sheet and the dog should've been blocking.

That's right. A fuzzy, dark coloured blanket is going to reflect less light that a smooth, pale cotton sheet. The angle of the sheet to the camera and lightsource will also affect how it reflects as well, so a curved surface can reflect differently.

Yet the bed sheet further away still did.

The TV is to camera left. At 35 seconds when there is the flash from the screen you can see that the sheets on the left of the image are more brightly lit than the sheets on the right of the image.

Even parts the lumped up sheet and the dog should've been blocking.

I don't see any problem there. The TV is to the left, slightly in front of the dog. You can see him looking straight at the screen several times, such as when the wormhole opens at the end. Given this, it's perfectly plausible that parts of the sheet to the (image) right of the dog are lit. Also bear in mind that the entire TV screen flashes white when the title comes up, and that most TVs today are fairly large, then it's quite a big light source. Even if the dog and blanket are blocking part of the screen, other parts of the white TV screen will be able to light the sheets on the far side of the dog.
