[Decision Making] ¿TNG or ENT?

Welcome to the Trekbbs. I say (after watching Deep Space Nine) either would probably be enjoyable but TNG would let you understand the references you missed and TNG plays a part in Enterprise (saying anything more would spoil it) . Also, you might get more of an even response if you posted this in the General Trek forum.

I'd go for TNG though it is my least favorite Trek. It's fun to watch ENT when you've seen all the other Treks.

Okay, that's allowable. But any whining about how it is "too old" will get you a Trekkie demerit.
No "too old" is not a fact. "Old" is a fact. "Too" is a value judgment.
You got to watch TOS. It makes all of the other series even better, especially DS9.
Oh my..I misread the thread! I came to discuss the decision-making skills and command styles of Picard vs Archer..
I'd also suggest TNG first. For no other reason than that's how I happened to do it. But I tried for a binge viewing of Voyager AFTER Enterprise, and THAT didn't work for me, because I preferred to watch Enterprise reruns rather than never-seen Voyager.

-ENTERPRISE- is the freshest incarnation of STAR TREK on television and therefore, perhaps, the most relatable.
Having said that, however, the crème de la crème of franchise is Gene Roddenberry's pièce de résistance STAR TREK: The Next Generation. TNG is like the Christmas Tree, the standard that the other STAR TREKs rally around and only magnify its beauty and elegance, like so much garland. Yes, it came out in a bygone era of Big Hair but ... the Diamond in the Rough of those times could only be TNG: a stellar role call of the finest talent of the age. I offer Sir Patrick Stewart and Oscar-winner Whoopie Goldberg in evidence. But the entire cast, really. Yes, Gates McFadden could be a little wooden, at times, when she started out, but I'm very glad to say that Stewart's example helped her see the light ... and Bev has become, perhaps, the most beloved of ALL of STAR TREK's Chief Medical Officers. Watch TNG tonight and you'll see what I mean when I say that TNG is the best damn STAR TREK ever made!

As much as I love ENT, TNG would have to be the choice to watch first. There are references or fine points that will make more sense if watched in that order. You also have 7 seasons going for it and the fact that it's the order it was produced (TNG before ENT - yes we all know the others in between). Having said that, there are many fine points for ENT that one would expect hearing in an ENT forum, but I'll leave you to discover yourself

Are you saying that you can't watch both? If so, why not? Or are you trying to decide which one to watch next? If you're waiting to watch TOS last, which I cannot understand, I would suggest TNG followed by Voy then Ent. However, if you'd watched them in order (meaning TNG then DS9), it would have, for instance, made the opening scenes in DS9 (as well as several others) that much more effective.
Why especially DS9?
