But if the Federation has such an agency, other powers almost have to have one too.Ideally, no. But if others are playing that game, you almost have to.

Space Hitler at least had an excuse off being from a separate timeline and completely different moral system.
That Garak is as objectionable as Space Hitler yet gets welcomed with open arms.So would Garak and half of the members of the Federation. I’m not certain what the point is?
Sorry, I deleted that post. It didn't say what I meant. My apologies.I will next time I see them.
Garak is not a good character, one I would omit in a heartbeat, next to Q, Trelane, Quark and Okona.
That Garak is as objectionable as Space Hitler yet gets welcomed with open arms.
Which is awful to me.Probably because he is a character that was far better written and acted.
No worriesSorry, I deleted that post. It didn't say what I meant. My apologies.

She was never rehabilitated.I disagree with the franchise trying to rehabilitate Space Hitler. Life goes on.
Which is awful to me.
I'm pretty sure Sloan and his party saying they were from Internal Affairs beamed aboard DS9. The DS9 regulars would have been aware if they were transported off the station.Right, but do we even know whether that was part of what happened in the S31 holodeck or not?
She was never rehabilitated.

So did Georgiou.I’m honestly not sure why it is so awful? Garak grew up with different values than people who live on Earth and serve in Starfleet.
She did grow a little bit. More than Garak ever did.She was never rehabilitated.
One condemned the other embraced. Bizarre to me.
He's still an awful character. He should not be embraced at all!One better written and acted than the other. That and they never tried having Garak do dumb stuff like baby talk to make him seem more like a decent person.
Probably the biggest difference between the two. They weren’t interested in rehabilitating Garak.
He's still an awful character. He should not be embraced at all!
Acting is not reason enough to enjoy a character for me if the morality questionable. Especially in Star Trek.I don’t think you quite understand. Garak got embraced because he was a deep and flawed character who was brought to life by the magnificent Andrew Robinson.
Georgiou had the acting muscle, but the character was written so poorly that she ended up as a joke.
Acting is not reason enough to enjoy a character for me if the morality questionable. Especially in Star Trek.
I would agree with that if Garak were a Federation officer.Acting is not reason enough to enjoy a character for me if the morality questionable. Especially in Star Trek.
As I said, it's a mileage will vary situation. Garak is treated too well for such a despicable character.I simply don’t understand this. It is drama.
What I meant to say is I don't approve of the clandestine organizations and their nefarious actions. Garak used his skills deceiving Sisko and ensuring the survival of the Alpha Quadrant.Duplicitous, underhanded, and murder are so great that every interstellar power should have an agency dedicated to it!
