So Jason Statham's version of Death Race came out today. Mine was actually shipped late last week, but actually got it early this morning on release day.
So I watched it while taking a shit...don't ask.
It's pretty damn good. Very fun movie. British actor Ian McShane (think Armand Assante) makes the movie. The car stunts are out of this world and the plot is actually very smart...it's just the script in delivering that plot is a bit weak. In other words it didn't develop the plot as well as it should have.
I think what made this movie so much better than it's '79 original, is that it went with the Mad Max look to it. Made it a bit more believable and there was very minimal, if any use of CG. All car stunts were done in real life.
