Deal breaker for me?

I will go and see it, whatever happens. Whether I see it more than once, buy the DVD, etc, depends on simply if I enjoy the film.
If it's a piece of shit story with plot holes you could fit Shatner's ego through, á la Nemesis, i.e. for all its posturing the franchise has learnt nothing, once will be enough, thank you.

Like others have posted, a bad review would do it for me first and foremost. I'll be spending a lot of time on "Rotten Tomatoes" when reviews start coming in.
Of the direction in which things may go that I fear, I wouldn't be too happy with an extremely convoluted plot. Trek stories tend to be very straight-forward. Although that's not a complete deal breaker.

Multiple bad reviews from fans and critics would obviously be a turn-off. And honestly, I think I would be a little disappointed if Abrams and co. made it TOO MUCH like the 1960's Trek. I'd really like to see TOS "re-imagined" a little and updated for a contemporary 21st century audience. Keep the characters and premise but update it, change it as needed, twist it around to make it fresh. As long as it remains true to the overall theme of Trek, I'll be happy. I'm really not looking for something that's a literal carbon copy of TOS. I don't want Abrams to be afraid to take risks or chances, and do something different if he thinks it'll work better.
If it is a completely linear story with "perfect" heroes who have no flaws to speak of, then I won't bother seeing it more than once (unless it is, against all odds, an interesting film despite this structure--very few stories, in any genre, with this structure are interesting, though). But I'll watch any Trek at least once. I kind of like to decide for myself whether something is good or not in the realm of entertainment.
While I do tend to lean on reviews for films that I'm not terribly wild about to begin with, if I'm interested in a movie all the negative reviews in the world won't stop me. I knew going in that Nemesis wasn't garnering much respect for the press, but I went on opening night anyhow, just as I did for Insurrection, First Contact, Generations and Undiscovered Country.
What can I say? I'm a fan.
If the movie is a musical, is an ice show, or it the cast is replaced by sock puppets.

There are no deal breakers for me. I like Star Trek too much and I'm too curious how this will turn out.
But I was royally pissed to hear that they've made changes to the Enterprise. I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to finally seeing the original 1701 with a movie quality miniature (cg or real) on the big screen.
Now it appears TOS fans will never get to see that. Not a deal breaker, but I've stopped giving Abrams and team the benefit of the doubt about this film.

Ohh god, I saw Nemesis after driving through a storm..and was so severely disappointed I demanded my 2 hours back..(never got em but heck one can't have everything)..
To me, the deal breaker will only come along if, during the film, I see that it's a campy take off satire on the show/movies I have enjoyed for over 40 years.. If Abrams does that, I'll hunt him down myself and demand those 2 hours back from him personally... :thumbsup:
