Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 1

Savage has manipulatd so many world events throughout history, that taking him out too early could absolutely and totally rewrite all of history. They want to preserve their own personal timelines by quietly taking away his resources, money and power, weakening him until they find the perfect point to take him out.

You're correct, but this is what makes them all incredibly selfish. They are going to sacrifice the productive lives of everyone in the future just to preserve their own. I am hoping they realize this and figure out that they need to kill Savage only at the point when he has truly doomed humanity.

Somebody earlier in the thread called it, I think. The final episode will have Rip's wife and son as android decoys or something similar and then the team will swoop in to save the day.

I thought it would have been cool if the arrows had been fired from within the cybernetic arm.

That just made me thing of the Azrael Batsuit shooting razorbats, which made me wish that Arrow was still just a Batman clone, like the first season or two. Bringing Sara back could have been the entire Red Hood storyline, with Sara as an antihero, and a Knightfall style storyline with Slade in the Bane role could have been really fantastic. Just not sure who would fill the Jean Paul Valley role.

That could have been fantastic - and you could have gone down the road of using Diggle as the replacement for Valley, or even have taken a nod from the recent Batman comics and have had Detective Lance become the Green Arrow.

Going over parallels is fun; it made me wonder what slew of villains Slade would unleash at once (ala Bane in Knightfall)..... .the original sequence is basically a brutal Bats vs. Joker encouer over the death of Jason Todd, afterwhich he goes home, where Bane is waiting, and he is broken. In the Arrow version, it could have been an exhausted Ollie beating Malcolm within an inch of his life over Sara's death.... returning to the secret base to find Diggle beaten and Slade waiting with the backbreaker or whatever they went with.... maybe Roy could go dark enough to play the Valley role, with Thea as Tim Drake, being shoved to the side? Still not sure Arrow has anyone that could really fill that Azrael role.... Nyssa???

*EDIT* The return of their Huntress? Yeah... Arrowverse Huntress could fit that viscous Azbats role just fine... but could she look genderless in the suit?

Really though, the one brainstorm it just brought me that still could and needs to happen.... OLIVER AND THE TRICKSTER! Mark Hamill and Oliver on a bad day.... is just waiting to happen...... PLEASE!!

Lance as Arrow, that sounds intriguing. However I can't see Diggle going the Valley route. I think they would've needed to sit it up pretty early in the show's run. While the potential to make Diggle a darker, troubled person has been there, the show hasn't ever really went that way...or for long. He's been more of Oliver's conscience and while he has shown some emotional stress, I haven't seen the emotional/mental instability of Valley. From my understanding Valley was more like a troubled mentee, reform or help project for Bruce.
