DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

Good point.
Does Static Shock have a connection to Black Lightning in the comics?

Oh, I thought they'd acquired full ownership. Apparently not.
That would be cool. BL's in the Arrowverse now, and they have featured several other Outsiders characters, like Dr. Jace and revisionist versions of Looker and Geo-Force. I'm actually a bit surprised they haven't introduced Halo yet.

The current version of Halo is closely tied with Katana who discovers Halo while on a mission and takes her in, setting up a similar dynamic to the early days of the two characters. So, Halo could be introduced in an episode with Katana. Heck, bring in Metamorpho and they have the original Outsider line-up. Thunder and Lightning, and Grace were members of a later version. I'd love to see a season of Black Lightning and the Outsiders.

Not really, beyond the odd trend of having lots of black superheroes with electric powers (also including Storm, Super Friends' Black Vulcan, and even the Miles Morales Spider-Man). They were created decades apart for different companies. But because of their similarities, there have been occasional latter-day connections drawn between them. At least, the Young Justice animated series portrayed BL as Static's mentor.

Anyway, my thinking was just that Static would be a logical character to add to Black Lightning at some point. I mean, it makes more sense than having Mister Terrific and Wildcat on Team Arrow...

Oh OK, with the way everyone was talking about The Outsiders, I thought maybe he was on that team at some point.

No, that was in connection to the parallel discussion about Katana, who was one of the founding Outsiders along with Batman, Black Lightning, Metamorpho, Geo-Force, and Halo.

Static is on the Outsiders in the Young Justice TV series, but I don't think he has been anywhere else.

Might also be a rights issue, as I don't think DC actually owns the Milestone characters. Anyway, I'd rather they brought back Katana in the Black Lightning show.

That might be a hard sell in the way Black Lightning is handled--even a Katana modified from comic origins.

Much like the Spiderman 3 news from last week a website has exclusively confirmed that Ben Affleck has signed on for more films as Batman as well as a HBO series. The HBO series being a Batfleck series with the story being how he lost Robin and his becoming who he was when we meet him in BVS. If they do that story then obviously we would have Jared Leto return as the Joker.

^ Stop letting yourself get duped by clickbait.
I'm not. It was rumor and clickbait 6 months ago. The sources claiming this are the same sources that said Affleck would be in the Flash movie. And I said it was much like the Spiderman 3 news implying that it's not solid info when it's one source. But a more reliable one.

^ "Reliable sources" are the "major Hollywood Trades" (Entertainment Weekly, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Vanity Fair, and Deadline Hollywood), their affiliate sites (TV Line), the "minor Hollywood Trades" (The Ringer, IndieWire, SlashFilm, etc) , and other sites with unimpeachable reputations (like ComicBook.Com).

None of those publications have even touched on this Ben Affleck Batman thing, which is why it's clickbait.

I thought ComicBook.com was one of the worst click BS clickbait sites?
Wow, that is very, very, unexpected.

As I said, much like the Spiderman 3 news.

That would certainly open up the possibility of a continued storyline between Batman and Joker if they made a series.

^Right. That one. Though I have to admit, I get confused with some of those eerily similar news site names, too.

I just checked, the domain comicbooknews.com is for sale, apparently. Must be quite expensive for nobody to have snatched that up for their site.
