DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

I've always liked Cavil as Supes. He did the best he could in three terrible movies. But, meh, I'm ready to move on to a new Superman.

i liked him too...but not ready to dump him yet...though i guess we still have the DC Berlanti SHow Superman if we need to lose the DC Film Universe

I'd be happy with more Cavill. As long as they ignore BvS and JL. But I don't expect it to ever happen.

Affleck almost won me over in BvS - he just, imo, needed better material to work with. But he checked out so hard in JL that I really don't care to ever see him in the role again.

Yeah, Affleck is fine as Batman. But, I just kept seeing Affleck. Hard for me to integrate the Star and the Role. I liked how he was physically imposing in the role. But I’m also ready to move on.

You do know that was a cover story right? He was planning to work through it, but WB gave him an out.
Has anybody actually confirmed this? I know that's the big conspiracy theory that was going around, but I find it kind of hard to believe a father would actually lie about something like that. I guess if he was a really shitty father he might.

Never confirmed, just seems to fit best with what everyone is saying. I don't think he lied - he was distraught, but he was working through it. It's still just a conspiracy theory though.

I think what Crookeddy said is balogna.. i thik it was more "good timing" in that WB knew all the criticism and this was a way that "worked out" to let him go while letting him save face.

I am not sure what who decided and why that Zack Snyder would be good for not just SUperman, but ALSO Justice League... he would have been a far better choice for Batman or Suicide Squad (or LOgan for Marvel/Fox).

How so? Did fan whining somehow cause Snyder's daughter to commit suicide?

We already got a director's cut of Suicide Squad.

Actually, it might not have been

https://screenrant.com/suicide-squad-cut-david-ayer-different/

His cut was supposedly much darker, and didn't have the music or colorful visual style in some of it. They never admitted to the full rumored changes, but there is definitely a difference, and based on Ayers work his Suicide Squad would probably have been fairly different (and far inferior in my opinion, since the music and tone adjustments that went with it are what made it a "so bad its good" action movie for me).

Is the extended cut that was released on DVD and digital still not Ayers's original version?
This reminds that I still need to read the Suicide Squad novelization. I bought the e-book a while back, but I haven't read it yet. From what I've read online it's supposed to have a lot of stuff from Ayers's original script that ended up not making it to the theatrical version.

No, the extended cut isn't Ayers original version from what I understand, its just got a few extra scenes in it that still fit with the tone/feel of the theatrical version. Honestly, I have absolutely no interest in Ayers version, but it definitely seems to have existed and to have been fairly different, in tone at least, then what we got (and I think the movie would probably have done worse if his version had been released, just based on what he seemed to want to do).

Screen Rant

Screen Rant: Do you think we’ll see Black Adam fight Shazam in that film, or is that later on down the line?

Dwayne Johnson: Without giving too much away, it’s not in the plans right now. I think the approach that we’re talking I feel really good about, and all of the filmmakers do too as well. It’s an origin story and that’s where we start it and we root it, and then we build out from there. Now, not to say Shazam isn’t on my radar. Of course Shazam is, but so is all of DC.

JSA was my jam growing up.

Dwayne Johnson: JSA. We will introduce you to that, the world to JSA.

J.S.A.??? He will be WW2 JSA old by the time they make it!!

Origin story?? Feels like Scorpion King. They havent started filming yet, right? I know It is not Marvel...but they are just begging for an end credits scene with Shazam

It feels like, at this point, the actor who played Billy in Shazam is going to be old enough to just play the adult hero part of his identity by the next time we get to see him, if he ever appears again (since his movie wasn't that profitable, unfortunately).

I am guessing we'll at least see him in some kind of team-up...
