Hm. I like how the Arrow-verse reuses actors from other incarnations. Makes it sort of feel like family.
Oh, wow, a child version of "Cassandra" will be a significant part of the movie. So, they:
- Got her backstory wrong (as a child she was in isolation, only knowing her father and training with him silently, this is literally as important to her as being an Amazon is to WW or being an alien from Krypton is to Superman, without it its literally just an asian girl with a similar name)
- Are making sure we'll never see a Batgirl age Cassandra any time in probably the next 10 years
- Are making a child actor one of the main components of this shitty vanity project, meaning the Birds of Prey themselves will be even more irrelevant in what is literally Fake Harley Quinn: The Movie in all but name
At this point, its like DC is fucking with me personally. They are destroying all their characters/teams that I enjoy the most (except for Power Girl, who will luckily probably never get used, and Wonder Woman), and pretty much going from the top of the list downwards. While I'm still angry in a general sense, I'm going a bit numb at this point. That doesn't mean I'll stop calling DC out, but I am now understanding that everything that made me a DC fan (I actually like DC a little bit more then Marvel in general) is going to continue to be destroyed until nothing is left except possibly WW (although hiring an idiot comedian to play Cheetah will probably sink parts of WW's next movie, hopefully gadot can pull the movie out of the gutter all by herself).
The actress is 12.
In the comics she runs away at age 8.
Assuming there's a sequel, she'll be 15ish by the time it's made, right about the age she normally joins the Batfamily.

So what I would otherwise have taken as Margot Robbie just funnin' has apparently been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter as being the real, actual, no-shit official full title of the Birds of Prey movie:

Yeah, it is kinda cool. But I do wonder whether WB will actually stick with the title, or marketing will veto it.

Maybe Robbie's photo forced their hand. But I guess it doesn't really matter now.
It looks to me like the time stamp on the WB's Twitter post of the script photo is from no more than half an hour after Robbie's Instagram post (though it's hard to say exactly since Instagram's time stamp is less exact). That seems a bit quick if they were caught off guard. And since Robbie is a professional, I would expect her to know better than to announce uncleared information.
The full title makes me just as ambivalent to see it as I was before.

We shouldn't. That's the problem. Harley worked in her original incarnation because she served to develop Jokers' character in ways never done before, but on her own she's a 1 note character once she sticks around for a while.
It's like how in the comics Mr Freeze has little point to him once you get rid of Nora.
