DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

I honestly can't tell if the set photo's of Phoenix as the joker, is actually of him in character or just what Joaquin decided to wear to work that day.

I very rarely descend into this level of nerdery but.... this movie is going to suck and is raping my childhood.

My childhood had Cesar Romero.

He was the only live action Joker in my case. I survived un-scarred.

Romero was fantastic.
As for the spoiler, until it’s not some guy on the internet reporting what some people told him, I would take it with a huge grain of salt.

Personally I’m looking forward to the movie. I like Elseworld stuff and since Ledger did a pretty fantastic take on the Joker, I’m curious what Phoenix will bring. He’s a talented actor. If it fails it fails, at least it’s not doing the same thing.

The Joker is supposedly Thomas Wayne's bastard child.

If that's in the movie then I bet it turns out that the Joker only think he is Thomas Wayne's son. Or he claims to be because he's frigging nuts.

It's an Elseworlds story basically so I don't get why some people are freaking out about that. It sounds like some fanboys have something wedged up their rumps.

Superman, Steroid Man, and Hiked-Up Minidress Woman?

I don't think Romero's Joker was actually weaker than any of the other '66 villains. It was more that his Joker wasn't a stronger nemesis to Batman as later incarnations of the character were, and that's because at that time he simply wasn't, even in the comics. It wasn't until Denny O'Neil & Neal Adams returned the Joker to his homicidal ways in the comics, and that was dependent on the Batman comics shifting back to the darker pulp detective stories and away from the tone of the TV show.

Wiki tells me that Julie Schwartz didn't like the Joker and that's why he didn't appear in original stories when Julie took over as editor in 1964. Though the reprints in the 80-Page Giant issues did feature Joker stories. But it looks like Schwartz had to give in to the TV Batman juggernaut at least once.

So, they're probably eliminating any chance of Cassandra showing up as an actual character (and not just a kid cameo) in any non movie, for some small thing that probably won't matter. I mean, they have a Batwoman series coming, that would have been a perfect place to see the actual Cassandra Cain, as opposed to basically wasting her as a kid cameo in a shitty vanity project for Margot Robbie that is already destroying the comic Birds of Prey by stealing its name.

So, now that movie is not just ruining one of my favorite teams, the Birds of Prey, its also wasting one of my top 5 favorite DC characters (and favorite Batgirl by far), and probably preventing her from showing up in anything else for years afterwards.

At this point, DC movies have ruined almost all my favorite DC characters. Heck, if you include the Arrowverse taking a shit on the JSA and ruining the Legion of Superheroes, I'm pretty sure that Power Girl is my only favorite DC hero that hasn't been ruined by any branch of DC's live action garbage (well, plus Wonder Woman, obviously, although WW 1984 is certainly losing a lot of goodwill with its godawful villain casting).

It sounds like Warner's plans have come to fruition. They were targeting everything you love.

I know this is probably pointless, but what the hell I'll give it a try. According to IGN the movies focuses on the Birds of Prey protecting Cassandra after she comes across a diamond belonging to Black Mask, so it sounds like she'll be a pretty significant part of the movie.

I didn't realize it had a woman director and a woman writer along with the so far all woman cast. That's pretty awesome.
I wonder what the new title will be? I don't know of any other teams the lineup matches, so maybe it won't come from the comics.
