The only reason Ezra Miller appeared in Crisis on tv was Warner Bros movie division asked for it. It was a last minute addition. They clearly wanted to maintain interest in his version of the character and create a link between the two characters. What that means going forward remains to be seen. But it very possibly could be referenced in the movies. The movie people made it happen!
Have any of the other movies gotten comic prequels or tie-ins? Wonder if Cyborg will cameo in this or has that friendship ship completely sailed now.
Assuming nothing changed, apparently not. Cyborg Cameo Written Out of ‘The Flash'; Role Played by Ray Fisher Won’t Be Recast (thewrap.com)
Batgirl movie casts Ivory Aquino as DCEU's first trans character And I'm very glad it's Barbara's roommate Alysia Yeoh from the Gail Simone run, and not Dagger Type from the Burnside era.
I know they love "First XXXXX" headlines but anyone watching CW is just like "OK, finally, I guess...". The movies give us like a sly kiss or a roommate and it's like Supergirl has a trans superhero lead for years.
Yeah. Supergirl had one for years. They should one of the other letters that hasn’t been done. I’ll be very disappointed if this movie doesn’t end with the Joker shooting Barbara. That is her sole purpose after all. Her destiny
And another one for the old Ignore List. (Kinda like how Warner's are ignoring Nicole Maines' existence.)
I'd prepare for some disappointment, then, if I were you (I'm not, thankfully, so I think I'll be able to take whatever ending this film has in stride).
The headline says "First DCEU", so technically, they're right. Though of course, it's not necessary to have the "first" trans character, second, third, and so on will be just as welcome. Just as long as it's not Dagger Type. But "first" gets more clicks for the article, I guess.
It's the same with the MCU. A gay guy in Cap's blip support group made the news while viewers of the Netflix shows, Agents of SHIELD and Runaways just scratched their heads.
