DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

I'm okay with that. And it makes sense about starting with the baseline Batman.

Is Keaton's role official now?
I’m not sure if any of them are official but hopefully the fact that the likes of VF, Variety or THR have been reporting on the negotiations means that they’re at an advanced stage.

I wonder was it a contractual obligation, huge sum of money or, hopefully, he really liked the script and thought it would be a good way to see out his tenure in the role.

Not saying this will happen but in Flashpoint doesn't it begin with Barry talking with Batman in the "old" universe and end with him talking with Batman in the "new" universe?

“He’s a very substantial part of the emotional impact of the movie. The interaction and relationship between Barry and Affleck’s Wayne will bring an emotional level that we haven’t seen before,” the director added. "It’s Barry’s movie, it’s Barry’s story, but their characters are more related than we think. They both lost their mothers to murder, and that’s one of the emotional vessels of the movie. That’s where the Affleck Batman kicks in.”

It better not be "You can save your mother! I can't!"

I wonder if maybe his attitude towards the role has improved now that he's sober and done with his divorce?

Or perhaps he's once again allowed to play the dark, brooding Batman that he originally signed up to play.

Also, is he going to get HUGE again like he did for bvs?

Stuff like this is why I wish Flashpoint (presuming that's what this movie will be called) was coming out before The Batman.

Keaton's had enough of a career resurrection since "Birdman" he doesn't need to be worried he'll only be remembered for being Burton's Batman, so it probably made him more willing to come back.

I wouldn't bet on it. As he said when he did it the first time, "It's really hard to put on muscle at my age." I suspect that he liked the script & the money enough that he was willing to sign on but I'm guessing that the part isn't going to be anywhere near as strenuous as the work that he had to put in on BVS and Justice League.

BTW, with the way that they're describing the relationship between Batman & the Flash, is anyone else getting flashbacks to the Iron Man/Spider-Man relationship in the MCU?

Ray Fisher is now saying that WB is launching an investigation into his accusations against Joss Whedon.
It seems a little odd to me that all of this is only coming Fisher, and not WB, or any of the other people involved in the movie.

I'm not saying that he's right. I'm not saying that he's wrong. But the fact that he's the only one making any of these accusations makes me think that we're not going to be seeing Ray Fisher in any other major studio projects for a while. He's going to be out in the wilderness with Josh Trank. Based on other comments that he's made, I'm sure that he's fine with that.

Too bad. I kinda liked him as Cyborg. (Although it didn't help that even the organic half of his face looked like an Uncanny-Valley CGI construct.)

Despite being named Barry Allen, Miller's version of the Flash seems to be more Wally West or even Bart Allen in nature. Barry should be able to hold his own as a detective in a team up with Bruce Wayne.

Cyborg is just a bad choice for live-action in the first place, since half his face would have to be CGI and the other half normal. If you're going to have a character like that, go all the way and totally cover them up like Nebula or the Martian Manhunter.

Why CGI? What is wrong with conventional make-up and prosthetics? Those can always be touched up in post-production.

He works fine in 'Doom Patrol'.

And I'm not saying Whedon isn't an asshole, because he most definitely is, but Fisher's one-man crusade just seems a bit odd. Is he really still mad that they wanted him to say "Booyah!" in a nod to 'Teen Titans Go'?

So it seems that Affleck is just in a better place in his life overall. Which is positive news with or without taking on the roll.

Barbara Muschietti, the producer of The Flash : “There have been some all sorts of stories and things he said himself about having a very hard time playing Batman, and it had been difficult for him. I think it was more about a difficult time in his life. When we approached him, he’s now in a very different time in his life. He was very open to it, which was a bit of a surprise to us. It was a question mark. We are all human and go through great times in our lives and terrible times in our lives. Right now he’s in a place where he can actually enjoy being Batman. It's a pivotal role, but at the same time it’s a fun part."
