So....no one is commenting on how apparently the female character Gunn was talking about in the Superman sequel might be Maxima?

I expected that when awhile back it was confirmed they were casting “ female warrior” and most were assuming new Wonder Woman. Nope. Brainiac = Panic in the Sky = storyline that introduced Maxima.

In fact I expected that storyline being inspiration once Brainiac was confirmed. Gunn’s Superman was directly inspired by late 80s and 90s comics. In that history Superman was not founding member of the Justice League. But an occasional ally. But that changed with Panic in the Sky storyline which involved him leading other heroes to stop Brainiac invasion. That humorous League had Guy Gardner which clearly is what Gunn is basing his Justice Gang on. Also in that story Lex Luthor Junior helps heroes stop Brainiac. FYI at the time the real Luthor was posing as his Son in clone body. With no criminal past. Obviously the details are not going follow all that. But I think it’s very possible Gunn is using the overall premise of that storyline as a framework for his movie.

Well, not exactly. She was first introduced during the "Eradicator" storyline first, Panic in the Sky was the first time she tried being a Heroic character

While I agree The Flash is an atrocious mess, I loved every minute of Birds of Prey. I also loved Christina Hodson's other big action movie, Bumblebee.

But honestly.. not enthusiastic on the writer and director. Gunn was suppose to get some new blood in there, take some chances. not the same old people doing the same old things that seen DC rot on the vine.

I certainly won't since her two previous films were so good.

Exactly. Even without that level of meddling, any filmmaker is part of a team, and nobody makes a good movie 100% of the time. My go-to example: Spielberg bombed with 1941 but followed it up directly with Raiders of the Lost Ark. And people loved John Logan's writing in Gladiator but not so much in Star Trek: Nemesis (although I think that movie is underrated).

You all realize that Jason Momoa is just an agent of Zack Snyder right? He is just faking enthusiasm for playing Lobo. This is their long game that will lead to him playing Aquaman again and eventual restoration of the Snyderverse!

While I agree The Flash is an atrocious mess, I loved every minute of Birds of Prey. I also loved Christina Hodson's other big action movie, Bumblebee.

I didn't realize the she wrote both Birds of Prey and Bumblebee, easily two of the best movies in their franchises. I'd have to see Bumblebee again to confirm just how much I enjoyed it, but Birds is one of my favorite movies of all time. Basically, if you want to know the kind of tone I like best for stories, just look at that.

From what I've read online, it sounds like pretty much all of the problems with Nemesis lie at the director's feet. It did have some good ideas and interesting developments, that have lead to some great tie-ins, so it wasn't all bad.
