DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

as opposed to the generally warm reception experienced by all the other components of the MoS/BvS/ZSJL thing?

Well, certainly the reception to those was more than warm in some quarters. I am not aware of a similarly passionate fan base for The Flash.

To be fair, MoS and BvS had a lot more people liking it from the get-go than The Flash ever did.
I never saw any of them in theaters, btw. MoS was a direct hit for me on BluRay and I will die on the hill of defending that movie. BvS was the Ultimate Edition as my first viewing, never seen the theatrical cut. From what I heard, it a far superior movie. And ZSJL? Sure, it could be shorter and it's not perfect. But it is one of the best superhero movies out there for me.

I think it would depend on the context. His appearance as Clark in the Arrowverse worked just fine in the context that it was presented. That said, I really wouldn't want any new productions to undo the ending that they gave Clark in that story as it just seems so utterly perfect for that character.

Oh absolutely, but this is completely separate. He would be playing a different character.

Hysterical since they threatened against anyone but Paramount/Skydance (owned by a major ally of the administration) from bidding on Warner Bros. which would be a far bigger antitrust concern than Netflix!
Technically, no, I know it wouldn't be a monopoly. Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery aren't as big as Disney by volume. But if they merged, they'd be as big as Disney. But they still wouldn't be as big financially as Disney. Also, if Paramount-Skydance bought Warner Bros., it wouldn't be a monopoly. But if a major corporation like Disney bought Warner Bros., it would be a monopoly.

Yeah, this basically just feels like an attempt to intimidate Netflix and nothing more, because if anything Paramount would be an even bigger concern since they have a much bigger presence in the media world.

Didn't the crossover itself already implicitly undo that ending? [Honest question, I may be misremembering.]

I don’t believe so. Earth-167 (Smallville’s Earth) was presumably destroyed along with all the other Earths, but it’s implied they were all subsequently remade. Earth-1, Earth-38, and Black Lightning’s Earth were merged, and it’s subtly suggested that Earth-96’s history was altered to give its Superman a happier ending. The Lois and Clark of the merged Earth-Prime ended up with “boys,” plural, instead of the single infant son they had on Earth-38. But those are the only established changes I can remember. I feel we are to assume the Earths were restored to their original states unless shown otherwise, and I believe the showrunners confirmed that was the intent at the time. (I think they even addressed Earth-167 specifically and assured viewers its Lois and Clark — and their daughters — were still living happily ever after.)

Yes. Since Crisis established that many previous DC shows' and films' universes were part of the Arrowmultiverse, as well as some contemporary ones like Titans, Doom Patrol, Stargirl, Swamp Thing, and the DCEU, they certainly weren't going to wipe them out permanently. Presumably most of the Earths were reconstituted exactly as they had been before, but a few were merged or altered in response to the feelings of Oliver Queen and the other characters involved in the recreation. (I also choose to assume that the nonsensical Bizarro Earth in S&L season 2 was the result of some kind of subconscious hiccup in Oliver's mind, since there's no possible way it could have formed that way spontaneously or stayed that way if the laws of physics worked in any coherent way, so it could only have been artificially created and maintained.)

I hope no one buys Warner Bros. Because I think if Paramount buys it, it could lead to some Trump-opposing actors in Warner Bros. and HBO series and movies losing their jobs and attracting fewer offers from "those" actors. If Netflix buys it, they'll release fewer movies in theaters. I hope no one buys it.

Although, considering that he will leave the presidency in 2029, I don't think any major Hollywood company, except Warner Bros. and Paramount, will bow to Trump.

So there’s already a controversy involving one of the movie’s stars, all while none of us have seen a second of footage from the movie.

‘Supergirl’ Star Sentenced to Prison Ahead of His DCU Villain Debut

Matthias Schoenaerts, playing the main villain Krem of the Yellow Hills, was sentenced in Belgian court over several driving and DUI charges. Although amusingly, the article points out that even if he does get sentenced, he could still get out in time to attend Supergirl’s premiere, lol.

Brainiac short list floating around based on absolutely nothing..... Claes Bang, Matt Smith, Sam Rockwell.
