DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

Rumor of the day has Matthias Schoenaerts (The Old Guard, A Hidden Life, Far from the Madding Crowd) playing the villain Krem in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

Saw that. Don't know the guy, and don't have any real reason to trust the rumor, but more WoT news is eagerly awaited.

The really critical casting choice is going to be Ruthye. If the film follows the graphic novel as closely as I hope, her casting is going to be arguably as important -- or even more so -- than Kara herself.

I've seen that Waid comment treated as news, but (a) I thought it was already pretty well confirmed that Krypto's in the film, and (b) I'm not sure Waid is "inside" enough to Gunn's DCU to know much the rest of us don't. (He's not one of the comics writers in Gunn's brain trust, AFAIK.) I think Waid was just going off rumors/reports that are already public.

I did find Waid's comment about Krypto vis-a-vis Zack Snyder amusing, though.

No shade to you though! Only to sites that churn every scrap so hard that they sometimes forget that something isn't necessarily new news. Waid's comment was new, so it gives them something to fill space with.

I've seen a couple of 'Behind the Scenes' photos of one of the crew carrying a prop squirrel leading some to speculate that Ch'p the Green Lantern might be in the movie.
