When Chekhov tried to rape the young Klingon woman and Kirk came in and broke it up, beating the shit out of Chekhov, when Chekhov slumped down the wall, leaving some glaring brown smears all over it. What caused those brown smears? Did Kirk beat the shit out of Chekhov more LITERALLY than anyone realized?

A couple of smear marks on the wall. Who knows what it is?

It's hard to say without reviewing the episode, but assuming the stains weren't already there, it could be sweat, makeup, or hair tonic. Or even just damage to the set's paint job.
 
Well I'm on a forum elsewhere where the posters regularly quote and discuss some eminent toupee wearers! So it just sort of rubs off on you I guess, Myk! :bolian:

I don't think Koenig wore a hairpiece that early, but I do recall him saying they would spray that "dark gunk" (technical term, folks) that they use to keep thinning spots from showing on his hair.
