I'm certainly hoping that the 4 new series novelisations they've done were successful enough to justify more.do hope we see more prose from Moffat in the future, either novelizations or new stories.

IIRC, it was an editorial mandate back in the 90s in the days of the New Adventures. It's been lifted today, but most authors continue to adhere to it anyway, mostly by reflex.though that could be an editorial mandate, I have a vague memory of reading something like that).
I seem to recall that the main purpose behind these was to keep a Doctor Who novel presence during the "gap months" until Whitaker's season starts and they can start pumping out Thirteenth Doctor material. Also, allegedly Chibnall wants tie-in novels for the incumbent Doctor to be more of a thing than they were during Moffat's run, so I'd say for 2019 we're more likely to see Whitaker tie-ins than novelizations of RTD and Moffat era episodes.I'm certainly hoping that the 4 new series novelisations they've done were successful enough to justify more.

There's no reason to believe we are.if we are heading to another hiatus
I seriously hope this will be the last-ever hiatus. I don't get the point of these - suspence? For what?
At least RTD gave the fans a season-ish made out of specials, spread throughout the year. Moffat's was the worst. And this one is nigh nonsensical. Stop them!
I'm not sure where the River Song scene is supposed to go in her timeline. It must come right before "The Husbands of River Song," since she says a company wants to hire her to crack open a library.
So just finished listening to the audio version of this. Confused by the last chapter.Cass comes back. But the Doctor says she could never save her. So it's not really Cass? It's The moment? Also at the end of the audio is a voice saying "help me....help me..." is that the 11th Doctor on Trenzalore?
