David Mack is GUSHING about it...this should settle it

Organic space thingies? Well, I guess the Undine/Species 8476 were popular...
It doesn't thus far seem like Discovery is going to even try introducing a new 'alien'. That's one of the disappointments of playing it safe with old news.

Besides the presence of Saru (which Tuskin has already mentioned), there is still plenty of room in the show for new aliens.

We really haven't seen too much more than the Pilot and maybe another episode or two. There are 15 episodes, so maybe there will be new aliens in at least some of the other 12 or 13 episodes we haven't seen glimpses of yet.

But that's not what most of you are doing. People like Rahul and Kirk5555555(55) are determined to hate it. That's judging it before they've seen it and they are far from alone.

I'm not determined to hate it. I'd love to, well, love it. But literally everything I've seen and heard, with the exception of the federation Starships exterior designs, is atrocious. When everything is terrible in every single piece of info released, of course I hate it. I have seen enough that I hate to form my opinion, I don't need to actually watch the show to form an opinion (although I will because I have to see the absolute worse pile of crap produced in one of my favorite franchises with my own eyes.

You don't have to agree with me, but its BS to say I was "determined" to hate it or that I've judged it without a huge amount of evidence.

You literally just called it the worst pile of crap star trek has ever produced without seeing an episode.....I hate to hear what people who don't like star trek have to say about it.

Yeah, that is completely unreasonable. There's no fucking way this can be worse than 'Into Darkness'.
If Discovery is on par with Beyond, I'm through. Done. Finished. It's the only Trek film I didn't bother to see at the cinema, and I'm glad I didn't waste the money.

And yes, I regret buying tickets for Insurrection and Nemesis.

Beyond was entertaining, exciting, uplifting and smelt of TOS Trek in a long missed way, I'd love a TV show that was half as good.
Insurrection and Nemesis were the creaks and groans of a franchise collapsing up its own rectum, so the less of that sort of Trek is in this new show, the better.
