Dating

Yes, we are both American, but we're not teenagers. We both have advanced degrees.
You missed the point of my post entirely. Having advanced degrees doesn't make anyone less prone to useless dramas. She either likes you enough to be in a good relationship or she tells you up front that there would be no future between you two. Keeping you hanging like that and indirectly treating you like an on-off'er isn't something you should tolerate.

And all my years of experience tells me that misogyny attracts exactly what it deserves. There's a nonvariable at work here for sure, but it isn't "American women". :bolian:
Yeah it is. Unable to take even the slightest form of negative criticism, and then blind labeling that criticism as "misogyny" is also one of the many flaws of American women. Example above. :techman:

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

Did you actually re-read your first post before you wrote this? Your opinions are cut and dry, textbook misogyny.

Why am I surprised, though? The first rule of misogynists, or misandrists, or racists, or bigots, or homophobes, or xenophobes, or any other carrier of social blight is to deny, deny, deny and then turn all culpability for their opinions onto their targets.

Explain to me, please, what is "slight" about this criticism:
I still think the worst thing to come out of America are American teenage guys and American women, ANY fucking age!!
:wtf:

or this criticism:

All my years of experience has taught me that American women are just fucked in the head.
These are direct quotes from your first post.

Let's define misogyny:

: by dictionary.com

mi⋅sog⋅y⋅ny

 /mɪˈsɒdʒ
thinsp.png
ə
thinsp.png
ni, maɪ-/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [mi-soj-uh-nee, mahy-]

–noun: hatred, dislike, or mistrust of women.
See anything familiar here?

Explain to me how these are not sweeping, nasty, blanket generalizations of about oh I dunno, 150 million people. Explain how your above statements are not misogynistic.

And your generalizations of the rest of the world's women (another, 3 and something billion people) as idealized fantasies compliant to your whims does them no favors, either. Human behavior does not change at the national border, and the 'foreign' women you elevate are no less functional or dysfunctional than their counterparts in the States.

Have you ever considered why the 'american women' don't want to be direct with you? Well here's one that's being quite direct. Ever to stop to think the problem might be with you?

The only one making blind labels here is you, and any woman with any sort of self worth is going to call you on it.

No, I think I understood it perfectly, as has Bears above.

Keeping you hanging like that and indirectly treating you like an on-off'er isn't something you should tolerate.
I suppose I could become bitter and angry about it--as I might have done a few years ago--but precisely what good would that do, hm? Perhaps maturity is choosing an appropriate response to a situation.

Your post speaks volumes and fully supports Bears' point, I'm afraid. Oh, and it isn't really appropriate for you to use a situation you know nothing of as some sort of example to prove a specious point, though I applaud the effort at self-actualization.

You guys are spending too much time responding to that comment. It only merits laughter. :rommie:

Would it be so funny if it had been said about any other group of people? A racial or ethnic group? Gays? I doubt it a response would be considered a waste of time then.

Perhaps he's just a troll and I took his bait, but in real life, this attitude has negatively impacted my life and the lives of uncounted other women. We struggle against it daily in our careers and personal lives. It leaves me with little tolerance for it here.

Please explain how its misogyny? You are completely ignoring that I pointed out about teenage guys as well. There are other things that are worse in America as well - bakery, selfishness and bad money management issues for example.

Why am I surprised, though? The first rule of misogynists, or misandrists, or racists, or bigots, or homophobes, or xenophobes, or any other carrier of social blight is to deny, deny, deny and then turn all culpability for their opinions onto their targets.
What target was it? That I am not interested in American women? That I have experienced it first hand how many of my friends who have married / dating non-American women are thousand fold happier than the ones who married / dating American women? Or is this forum not for all forms of discussion? I just gave an experienced opinion of mine, why are you taking it so personally?

All my years of experience has taught me that American women are just fucked in the head.
These are direct quotes from your first post.
Yes they are. And it would be misogynistic if I were to say that I have never experienced the immaturity of American women but I am basing my opinion by watching Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian. But I am not. And you are just blowing this out of proportion for you know it to be true.

Let's define misogyny:

–noun: hatred, dislike, or mistrust of women.

See anything familiar here?
Not really. I said American women or at least most of them are fucked in the head. I didn't say all women are.

Explain to me how these are not sweeping, nasty, blanket generalizations of about oh I dunno, 150 million people. Explain how your above statements are not misogynistic.
Nobody has the lifetime nor the patience to experience every single digit of any form of generalization. I am basing my quotes upon the direct experiences that I have had not just with women but observational experience as well. But its easy to label it on your end because you really have nothing with which you can refute my claims. Hence you just shout at me over and over crying the 'misogyny' game.

And your generalizations of the rest of the world's women (another, 3 and something billion people) as idealized fantasies compliant to your whims does them no favors, either.
I am sorry? When did I say they are compliant to my whims? If anything non-American women are even more headstrong, passionate and truly flavorful about their own personal lives. They are more personally independent than most American women also. So please, try to understand before you even reply to me next time.

Human behavior does not change at the national border, and the 'foreign' women you elevate are no less functional or dysfunctional than their counterparts in the States.
I respectfully disagree.

Have you ever considered why the 'american women' don't want to be direct with you? Well here's one that's being quite direct. Ever to stop to think the problem might be with you?
Not really. But I wonder how you came to that fact? Is it because I see through the vapid bullshit you are spewing or because I had the gall to criticize American women?

The only one making blind labels here is you, and any woman with any sort of self worth is going to call you on it.
Like you are? (1)

I suppose I could become bitter and angry about it--as I might have done a few years ago--but precisely what good would that do, hm? Perhaps maturity is choosing an appropriate response to a situation.
I didn't say you should be angry, just don't get mixed up with emotional drama that you don't need to be mixed up with.

Your post speaks volumes and fully supports Bears' point, I'm afraid. Oh, and it isn't really appropriate for you to use a situation you know nothing of as some sort of example to prove a specious point, though I applaud the effort at self-actualization.
I...... see. No wonder the girl isn't really interested in you.

Would it be so funny if it had been said about any other group of people? A racial or ethnic group? Gays? I doubt it a response would be considered a waste of time then.
Jesus freakin' Christ. :wtf:

(1) So in other words in real life you are not really worth it and cannot loudly say whatever you are saying here... therefore you dump your anger on a message board? Or maybe worthwhile men whether in the workforce or personally see through your bullshit and call you upon it? Have you wondered that perhaps its not misogyny from men but maybe the problem is with you? ;)

"Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt"

Keep digging that hole, my friend.

p.s. shes very attractive and likes Trek... two qualities I did not think could co-exist in a woman.

They are very rare because they tend to get snatched up almost as soon as they are noticed. :)

No, not always. Just sayin.'

Chemistry is a fickle friend. Just because it feels like it's there for you doesn't mean the other person feels the same. And vice versa.

I decided she was The One on the first date. It took her two additional dates to make up her mind and yes she decided that I was indeed The One.

Funny how that works.

^ Or perhaps the Fenix was slyly indicating her status as based on her all-to-infrequent contributions to the picture thread.

My God. I...I've just made a Holdfastian creepy-old-man-type comment. Somebody hold me.

:p
