How so?Reality went out the window when a convict could become mayor so....
It's an objective fact that the current occupant of the White House is a convicted felon. 34 times, in fact.

The difference is Fisk served time and the law wasn't enforced on the other guy. That's a huge difference. How so?

Yes we do. He gives up his citizenship and leaves, and he gets to go free. They told us that in the episode.somehow Wilson did get some kind of deal, although we don't know what exactly it is.
Repeatedly, including in this episode.I wonder if the fact that Poindexter (have they ever called him Bullseye in either of the shows?)
Which is absolutely insane since he committed cold-blooded murder. That's why I'm inclined to think it couldn't be as simple as that.Yes we do. He gives up his citizenship and leaves, and he gets to go free. They told us that in the episode.

Until S3 gives us any more details, I'm assuming Val had a role in this. Fisk gets prosecuted normally, he opens his big mouth and her crimes get brought up. Fisk can link her to the illegal guns, and the smuggling, after all. We've already seen she's more than willing to do shady things to cover her butt, and is not above murder. Or freeing a murderer. Hell, she doesn't appear to have any scruples whatsoever, so I put nothing past her.why was Fisk offered a deal at all? He did so many crimes, has killed people ( not even counting the ones he killed minutes ago on his rampage) and he still gets a deal to go into exile and get off free basically while Matt gets arrested later for his crimes as Daredevil??? That got me a little frustrated as it made no sense from any angle you may look at.

And we've already seen her actively step in. To influence the state AG, even. Recall the first appearance of Mr Charles.
It's the cycle of corruption. Bigger fish hang smaller fish out to dry to protect themselves. Or spare them because they can offer up tastier bait to authorities if given the chance.
No, it makes perfect sense for someone like him.because as it stands it makes no sense logically or in show to let Fisk go with a slap on his wrist
No, it makes perfect sense for someone like him.
Fisk is too powerful, too influential to be in prison, he'd be running the place with in a week.
And it wasn't just a slap, because he also had his citizenship revoked, meaning if he wants back into the country he'll need to do it illegally.
It is hard to believe. But I think there were two things at play here.
First, a lot of people were backing Fisk with their support or at least looking the other way because he seemingly got results.
And second, Daredevil had to give him an incentive to stop further bloodshed which was the most important thing for him in that moment.
Does that justify letting him off the hook quietly? No. But we'll see where it goes next season.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is ongoing public pressure for them to release the... erm Fisk files.
Technically I think you could make a claim of self defense for a few of the murders in the rampage. Some of them certainly were not 'self-defense', but I think he pretty much killed all eye witnesses anyway.Uhm - since when does any justice system worthy of that name tolerate murder? Even if nothing before the trial could be pinned on him ( highly unlikely) his murder rampage during the riot is something else and not even the best lawyer in the world could make that look like self defense.
Unlike the US that has done this in real life with Donald Trump it still is a huge logic hole for me to let off Fisk so lightly. I only hope there is something larger going on that we will see in season 3, if not it'll always be a mistake to me how it was handled.

About the Kingpin, I have to wonder: the AG's deal and offer of exile came before Fisk went on that final murderous rampage, publically maiming and killing people right and left.
Hard to imagine the original deal was still on the table after that.
New York has a Castle Law and deadly force is allowed if your life is at risk, which Fisk's was.All of them manslaughter at least.
I don't know the specifics of US law but i know the german law and know of a guy who has received special close combat training in the army, so one night he got into a fight and demolished the other guy. He got into severe legal trouble because it was ruled that due to his advanced skillset his use of force was deemed excessive even for regular self defense. Fisk's use of force could be "excessive" too
Btw - i love discussions like these about fictional characters and arguing wether they were in the right or not![]()
Yeah, I forgot about that, she was pretty cool.Damn, I knew I forgot mention something in my review: She was so damn badass in the finale. Both vocally and in action. Jumping off the walls like a tiger?! Yeah, that's definitely a magical amulet. I would love to see her team up with Kamala and Kate (and Riri!).
I thought the same thing and I can only hope so.
Well, there is a prison break. If Marvel were to release a comic tie-in to Brand New Day that covered what Peter Parker was up to during the reign of Mayor Fisk and then leading into the movie, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Also, I imagine that the status quo at the end of this season puts the kibosh the theories that Daredevil would be appearing in Brand New Day.
