Damage Line-By-Line

T'POL: Four light-years. We'll need at least warp three to make it in time. It's unlikely that Degra will wait beyond three days.

[Archer's quarters]

PHLOX: (putting Porthos down) He's all yours. He was the perfect house guest, as usual. You'll be happy to know that I discharged Ensign Ansara this morning, and Corporal O'Malley will be returning to duty this afternoon. Captain?

PHLOX: It's a simple matter of repairs. Well, perhaps not that simple. Somehow, I don't think it's the damage to Enterprise that's troubling you.

ARCHER: I'm about to step over a line, a line I thought I would never cross. And given the nature of our mission, it probably won't be the last.

PHLOX: Probably not. May I ask what you're planning to do?

[Damage is a very hard to swallow but an essentiall episode of ENT. Aspecialy T'Pol, Archer and Phlox take their shares. I think most of us wish to live in TNG times, honestly me too, nevertheless I know they are idealized. ENT crew is most human crew for me, so at this moment, they are still chalenging with their own demons in a hard way, like us. :sigh: ]

ARCHER: There could be more casualties.

Yes, I agree that the non-dialogue really makes this scene. It speaks well to the talents of everyone involved - actors and director. And, yes, it's a hard scene. He's in a no-win choice. He either violates his ethics or his crew perishes, which also violates his ethics. They convey his distress well.
