[Well just another very hard scene which left us behind with too many questions, like:
-If T'Pol was not on the drugs, could she save the lives of 18 crew member and Enterprise from destruction? Is it her responsibility that the Archer and crew become pirates?
-Should she be judged at military court? (At least she lied Reed about Cargo Bay 2, during other areas of ship need urgent repairments.)
-Is the "thing" with Trip only reasoned by drugs? How would Trip react, if he knows about her addiction.

[Well just another very hard scene which left us behind with too many questions, like:
-If T'Pol was not on the drugs, could she save the lives of 18 crew member and Enterprise from destruction? Is it her responsibility that the Archer and crew become pirates?

Good points all. First the non universe reasons: The devastating attack was for reasons of plot and because CGI had gotten to the point where they could put that level of damage on the ship and keep it for more than an episode or two.

In universe reasons, Enterprise was outnumbered and outgunned. The only thing T'Pol could have conceivably done differently was to retreat before they lost warp drive. They may have been able to escape, maybe not given the Xindi Subspace Vortexes. She froze on the bridge and was not at her best to be sure, but unless they had retreated, they would've still taken heavy damage and casualties. The way for Enterprise to succeed in attacking Azati Prime without reinforcements or allies would have been for them to pick their moment then attack surgically and quickly. Once they were detected, nearly all roads led to defeat.

[ @LeadHead totaly agree with you. I think even Archer couldn't do more. Earth has no choise unless send them alone, but as Trip stated once it is one way mission. How can you fight all alone at the enemies teritory and defeat them? Nevertheless, a leading personal with so many expereince, T'Pol, shouldn't start with the experiment (in an ideal universe )]
