- Heh, yes! Those TNG Romulan shoulder pads were ridiculously oversized - even for the 80s! I prefer a more "Dynasty" look - still big, but with sequins and other embellishmentsyep see the big square shoulders and the cube knit look of the romulan style.
Also very late 80s too which is why that sort of style was prevalent during the romulan uniform in the making of tng
That's great! I love this already.I've just realised that the off-kilter shoulder quilting and the piping along the other shoulder of the preceding uniform makes it look too much like the 29th century Starfleet uniforms from VGR: Relativity. I'm going to have to change them now (also, my original design notes were for a rusty bronze shoulder, not grey).
But, until I get around to those amendments, here's what I've got so far for this month's Art Challenge:
The first idea: An Oberth-class starship that transforms into Autobot siblings.

Some cut-outs and very rough sketches to work out what moves where in the transformation sequence (the primary hull & nacelles "brother" is looking a little dumpy...):

This morning's effort - the secondary hull "sister" was supposed to be in a fighting pose, but looked more like she was dancing, so I popped a drink in her hand and imagine she's tearing up the dancefloor at somebody's wedding. Her "brother" is running up to remove her before she causes an embarrassing incident (I've changed his bridge-dome-and-vanes torso into a shield to lessen the dumpiness - and a shield is handy as it may stop him from getting covered in his sister's drink!).

I'm not sure how I feel about Transformers having sexes, but for the purpose of this challenge, I'm going to go with it.

- Thanks, @pl1ngpl0ng . I think it's a bit of a fluke though, as normally my characters are pretty stiff and awkward, so I googled (well, Bing-ed, actually) male & female running poses but got so sick-to-death of only finding coupley or sexualised figures that I gave up and free-handed it.There is a nice sense of movement in both characters, really like that!=)
