I am thinking about getting it because I have heard great reviews and it looks good, but before I shell out $60 bucks I would like to hear about it from anyone here. Does it live up to the hype? Is the single player mission long or short?
The only real downsides to it are the save system (completely checkpoint based)

Ugh, I smell that's because of the consoles.
Well, given all the various technical things that scroll on the screen whenever you load the campaign, I suspect the sheer amount of stuff they put into each level had something to do with it.The only real downsides to it are the save system (completely checkpoint based)

I'm not sure why it necessarily has to be that way because of consoles. Fallout 3 and New Vegas are two games that let you save at any point on a console.
^I think the best part of the stealth game is not even needing the weapons. There's been two or three occassions where I snuck around and killed everyone (the most notable example was at the church) without ever firing a shot or getting fired at. They really did improve the stealth functionality a lot over the first game.
I think the garbled mission briefings are just a general issue. I have a pretty good computer and I face the same issue... though if you check the mission briefings in the unlock section, they'll play just fine.
Yeah, but there's usually plenty of cover around, so you can hide behind something, drop cloak, recharge, and keep moving.^I think the best part of the stealth game is not even needing the weapons. But the Stealth Mode is still only for a limited time before you need to reload energy, isn't it?
