Crossover ideas

In the comics, Trek has crossed over with the X-Men, Green Lantern Corps, Doctor Who and Planet of the Apes. The novel "Ishmael" was a crossover with the show "Here Come the Brides", and had multiple sci-fi cameos (including TWO Doctors) And IDW has established their Trek comics as being the same multi-verse as Ghostbusters, GI Joe and others.

It is an old idea of mine.

Star Trek crossover with Battlestar Galatica (reimagined). Basically a Federation science vessel enters the solar system where the ruins of the twelve colonies of Kobol are located. They accidently awaken the last remaining Cylons who are in cryosis.

Since the reimagined BSG is set in the distant past, we can easily bring it's universe into the Star Trek story.

Daleks and Star Wars. We would find out finally just how far and how long ago Star Wars was set but it would be in Dalek measurements.

I always thought it would be cool if Galactica TOS found its way to Earth in the late 23rd century.

I've always wanted to see/read a Star Trek / Doctor Who crossover. Seeing various Doctors work with the different captains and crews. Daleks. The Master teaming up with the Klingons (in TOS era). A Cyberman/Borg alliance.

They imply that the Cyberman are stronger than the Borg there which I don’t think is true at all.
Best part of that book was the TOS/4th Doctor segment as I’m more of a Classic Who fan.

I wonder.

It wouldn't be a first contact because Superman (if part of the Trek universe) would be well known having arrived on Earth centuries prior. There is some thought that Superman might be immortal, and if so would be alive in the 23rd and 24th centuries.

I think it would work better if in the Star Trek Universe, Krypton never exploded, and is just one of many alien cultures that the Enterprise deals with. There would be maybe an Easter Egg at the end of a Federation doctor discovering something extraordinary in their DNA when exposed to yellow sunlight, but the bulk of the episode would be with normal human level Kryptonians on the planet. Maybe the story could deal with the returning of quakes that had been solved/subsided centuries before, and a Prime Directive play on whether or not they should help Krypton stabilize its core. On the flip slide, alternatively they could find a lost colony of Kryptonians, long after the destruction its homeworld. Maybe that colony found, intercepted and saved Kal El's pod and thus it never made it to Earth.

ET has often been presented as part of the Star Wars universe (in that his species is seen in the Galactic Senate and Legends had all sorts of details on them), although this is conflict with the Yoda costume and other Star Wars merchandise in the ET movie.

Making ET a Star Trek character could be a gateway to the Star Wars universe. I wonder if that would make the Star Wars Galaxy into Andromeda. Maybe the Kelvans can talk about the ancient Empire that once ruled over them before being taken down by teddy bears.

Kelvans... use the Force? :D

Okay, I've got my ideas for crossovers:

Star Trek/Firefly: the Enterprise crew comes across a star system with dozens of planets and hundreds of moons, settled by humans who speak most of the languages of Earth-essentially, a collection of lost (unknown) Earth colonies that had resulted from the mess of the 3rd World War and its aftermath. They are feted by the government of the Alliance as having come from what the Alliance calls 'Earth-That-Was' and are shown how advanced the society is despite not exploring out of it due to not having warp drive, but a chance encounter with the crew of the Serenity make them realize that the Alliance isn't what it's cracked up to be, leaving them disappointed. Before the Enterprise leaves, Kirk makes a speech about the Alliance and how it's advanced technologically, but retrogressive sociologically, and that before it can be a part of the Federation (and if it wants to be a part of the Federation), it has to change.

Star Trek/Venus Prime-A tear in the fabric of space & time sees the Enterprise (from the 2009 reboot) end up in an alternate universe where the people of Earth have settled all or most of the solar system, but have not left it yet because the technology is centuries less advanced than that of the Federation in the prime universe (the time/space thingy deposited the Enterprise not just in an alternate universe, but in the alternate universe's 22nd century where faster than light travel has not been achieved yet, and with spaceflight tech similar to the tech of this movie.) The Enterprise's arrival causes a lot of commotion on Earth and the rest of the inhabited system (run by a governmental entity called the Council of Worlds that's similar to the United Earth Republic/United Nations of Sol), with a lot of social upheaval, especially as far as a cult called the Free Spirit is concerned.

The Council of Worlds enforcement arm, the Board of Space Control, assigns Ellen Troy (assumed name of Linda Nagy) to deal with them, her friend/associate Blake Redfield assisting her. A transfer of 23rd century tech to the peoples of the CW happens while the Enterprise is in the midst of getting repaired at an orbiting BSC spacedock; Kirk & Spock determine that allowing this wouldn't be violating the Prime Directive or the Temporal Prime Directive. The Enterprise crew, Lt. Troy, Redfield, The Commander (Troy's superior) and Professor J.Q.R. Forster must not only stop the Free Spirit cult from continuing what they were doing as seen in the original Venus Prime novels, but also deal with the discovery (on the Jovian moon Amalthea) of an ancient alien world-ship, which may help the Enterprise and its crew get back to its own time and dimension.

The Enterprise crew assists the expedition on board the Michael Ventris to research the world-ship, and subsequently the Enterprise itself is pulled into a stable black hole that the world-ship creates, its ultimate goal to be involved in an ancient interstellar conflict. After the conflict is resolved (with a lot of exploring of the solar system millions of years in the past!) due to the involvement of the Enterprise and its crew, as well as the apprehending of William Laird (the villain of the Venus Prime books responsible for how Troy/Nagy is in them), both parties go their separate ways, with the Enterprise crew being able to convince the alien to help the Enterprise get back to its own dimension, space, and time, and the crew of the Michael Ventris doing likewise back to the 22nd century of this dimension, minus Troy/Nagy and Redfield, who were so altered by the experience (partially caused by transforming themselves to be able to breathe water in order to communicate with the alien) that they elect to stay with the alien.

Star Trek/TRON Legacy-Starfleet discovers that most of the computer technology used by it is based on tech invented by ENCOM, an old corporation from the 20th and 21st centuries, and that some of this tech may have generated artificially intelligent 'beings' called ISO's. Discovering that Kevin Flynn (the discoverer of the ISO's) had actually been digitized into a computer system and then discovered the ISO due to his experimentation and tinkering with said system ( the 'digital frontier' of the two Tron movies) Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Uhura manage to be digitized and sent into the computer system, having an adventure similar to that seen in the two Tron movies.

My big one is:

Kira, Odo, Bashir and Ezri have a mysterious runabout accident that crashlands them onto earth's moon in the early 21st century and they have to emergency transport to the surface. While searching for some way to contact help or find some way to reach and repair the runabout, they are arrested by the SGC. They slowly realize they're in a completely different reality where Earth is in serious trouble and they make a deal to share technology and information in exchange for help reaching and repairing the runabout and looking for a way to return them home. But, the runabout's sensor logs are fried and without them there is no way to recreate the accident, so instead they accept their permanent presence here and begin to build a new Federation to protect the galaxy from the Goa'uld, starting with a defiant class ship with the mission to contact any powerful races from the Federation database that might still be around. Along the way, they find a nomadic civilization of refugees composed primarily of Klingons and Orions (with various others) that still wage war against the Goa'uld who destroyed their homeworlds, realize that the Goa'uld are actually Trill with a radically different history (due to the existence of stargates) and make contact with a joint Bajoran Cardassian civilization that has lived and prospered outside the reach of the Goa'uld by the grace of the Prophets. Also, prophet Sisko may fit in there somewhere. Also, this all takes place in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer universe and the SGC and DS9 crew try to protect Buffy and friends and help smack down the Initiative and hide dawn from Glory in space. And the Klingon leader of that refugee movement is a sorceror.

Star Trek/Predator

Kind of a reworking of the sequel Predators, the Predators abduct some of the toughest beings in the galaxy... probably Worf, Spock, Khan, an Alpha Hirogen, a Jem'Hadar and a Gorn and drop them on a planet to get hunted. Being Star Trek, Captain Picard is obviously aware of the situation and is trying to get into contact with the Yautja and we finally get to see a Yautja ship in battle with the Enterprise, a Klingon battlecruiser and a Dominion ship.

TOS Galactica finds Earth- the Earth of 1979 Buck Rogers. "Bidi Bidi Bidi- I ain't a Cylon, Starbuck!"

That was actually planned for a second season of both Buck Rogers and Battlestar Galactica, but it never happened-more's the pity, as it would have spared the world Galactica 1980 and the second season of Buck Rogers (a mistaken attempt to make it like the Star Trek-style show it should have been, and was originally planned to be.)

NCIS (or in this case SCIS) and Star Trek. A murder happens on board the Enterprise and Gibbs and co investigates. Wouldn’t be his first Enterprise.

There was a multi-part comic crossing Trek with the Legion of Super-Heroes. But for this thread, I'd go with "Alien Nation". I always thought that the Tenctonese looked like Trek Aliens of the Week anyway.

The Doctor Who novel "Forever Autumn" has the Doctor suggest that many of George Lucas' ideas for alien races were inspired by actual alien races. Lucas just thought he invented them because he's got some mild ESP and doesn't realize it.

They imply that the Cyberman are stronger than the Borg there which I don’t think is true at all.

Agreed. Sometime around 2006 or 2007 I was working on a Doctor Who/Star Trek: Voyager fanfic that I never finished where the 10th Doctor, post-"Doomsday," helped Voyager defend the Delta Quadrant from an invasion of Daleks & Cybermen from the void. Of course, the Borg got involved and I figured that the Daleks would wipe the floor with the Borg while the Borg completely ignored the Cybermen because they would detract from perfection, much like the Kazon.

Best part of that book was the TOS/4th Doctor segment as I’m more of a Classic Who fan.

Agreed. It felt like something that Marvel would have done in the 1980s! :D
