Like so many other things in these shows, Vanishing Point originated in the comics. As a concept, it's not specific to LoT.
This would be the perfect point for a Marvel crossover. Something like all the multiverse are stripped away and it now lets us see there is a miniscule connection point leading to somewhere else...
That's a shame. It kinda does a poo on that world if so.It's been confirmed by the creators that it's sequel to Returns which was a sequel to the Reeve superman.
In which case you misspoke, and in doing so conveyed misinformation, as you described the concept as being from the first season of LoT, rather than having been used in / adapted for LoT.Thank you, I am acquainted with the obvious. But the origin doesn't matter -- I'm talking about how the adaptation uses the ideas it adapts. Within the specific context of the Arrowverse, the Vanishing Point is a concept that hasn't been referenced in years, and that's associated with the most unpopular season of the franchise. So it's unexpected to see it crop up again in such a central role in the big crossover.

I was very annoyed that Lex Luthor replaced Routh's Superman. I loved seeing him back and looked forward to having a bigger role with a reduced cast.
I was disappointed, too, but it also makes sense, as it replaces a non-Arrowverse fan-service character (Routh Superman) with an Arrowverse one the weekly audience would have a connection to (Supergirl Luthor) for the final battle with the Anti-Monitor.
^ Again, what Lex did was heavily telegraphed; it was also spoiled by officially released promo photos..
Promo photos aren't spoilers.
Incidentally, I'm a bit disappointed to learn that Flash-90 married Tina McGee instead of Megan Lockhart.

That's an interesting idea and fits well with how the character is presented in her series. "Humanity" vs "courage" seems a better fit if I was spitballing.Maybe what they should have done is have Batwoman be the paragon of humanity and ditch Ryan Choi.
Choi makes sense in a meta way. Choi is the Atom in the comics, and since Routh's Atom is leaving Legends, introduing Choi and doing the passing of the baton in Crisis is ideal, as it's exactly the kind of thing the comics would do -- "A hero falls! I must be the Atom now!" That's more Stan Lee than Marv Wolfman, but you take my point. Big crossover events like Crisis are where mantle-passings take place. In fairness, does the Arrowverse weekly audience really NOT have a connection to Routh Superman? And by that logic, Ryan Choi would have been a much better replaced person. Maybe they should have had Luthor just be NAMED a paragon to the chagrin of the other heroes.

You can’t assume that everyone reading your posts knows what you do about the comics...nor can I assume what you know when you make such a misstatement. And I don’t see how the term “mansplain” applies here at all. There’s no gender issue involved.I'm sure everyone here understands that these shows are based on comic books, so you're just being obnoxious by assuming anyone needs that pointed out to them. I didn't "misspeak," I just didn't assume my listeners were idiots who needed to be mansplained to.
I enjoyed the twist that the Batman we saw was basically the burnt out shell of an evil Batman.
"Fuck Batwoman" this time?Speaking of which, Nightwing should have been one of the heroes they saved. He would have been a fun one to have interact with the heroes.
I suppose it might help -- he was a frigging revelation on Sg last year -- but he's been plenty great in this crossover, too. One of its highlights, actually.I'm not really sure why everybody's so gaga over Cryor's Lex either, do I need to have seen Supergirl to really get the appeal?
