Cringe Trek

I'm getting a Monty Python flashback....

As funny as that scene is, it contains good advice. I love Monty Python!

In the TNG episode The Child. Trio gets impregnated by an alien and the senior officers have a conference to discuss it. Picard says, “Counselor Troi is pregnant. She is going to have a baby.” It’s at this moment that everyone reacts to the shock of her being with child.
The cringe part is not their surprise, but that they don’t seem to know what the word pregnant means, since nobody reacts until Picard says that she’s going to have a baby.
I’m not a smart man, but even I know what pregnant means, and I haven’t even gone to Starfleet Academy.

Similar situation with Trip and his unexpected pregnancy. Everyone has all the sensitivity of a Ferengi in a gorilla suit at a funeral.

The Ferengi in a gorilla suit at my grandmother's funeral was very somber and considerate. Of course, she was a venture capitalist.

Another cringe moment: when Shelby beamed down to the New Providence colony with Data before Riker even got out of bed. She erred, all right.

Only Riker and Deanna was visible during that line. Riker cocked his head in realization when Picard said "pregnant" before saying Deanna was having a baby. I see nothing wrong with that scene.

What did you expect from novelisation basically written by a guy who wanted Troi to have....three....

I can't decide if Roddenberry was a genius or a super freak .

Neelix having sex with that Klingon woman on Voyager. Neelix having sex with Kes. Or anyone.

Captain Kirk getting into a fist fight with Jesus Christ. No, its a real thing. They were going to do it, but it was shot down by Paramount.

Roddenberry was a super freak. And that is not a good thing.

Yeoman Rand's indignities in "Charlie X", especially after finding out what happened to Grace Lee Whitney
Yeah, "And the Children Shall Lead". I was like six or seven when I saw it and hated it
Generations with the Nexus sequence
The skant looked bad. On men and women. Kilts look good on guys, as do a lot of other cultural skirts. Skants don't.
That gray thing they put Deanna in for most of the show. I noticed a certain detail of it on a rewatch and became deeply, deeply embarrassed for Marina Sirtis and ashamed of how someone, somewhere thought that was okay to do to someone, The entirety of Up the Long Ladder
Quark as a girl, laying on Moogie's lap, Take Me OUt to the Holosuite, Dukat and Winn
Flotter, Neelix after the first season, Tuvix, Kes' return, 7 of 9's outfit, Janeway's voice (sorry, I know she can't help it, but it's grating), that fake Irish village with either Richard Riehle or Brian Doyle Murray (can't tell those guys apart, and they never make a production better), any time they got all "Native" with Chakotay
Porthos, T'Pol's outfit, Decontamination
Burnham's dialogue in the first two episodes of STD, having that one commander be so stupid to let the tardigrade kill her, Tilly

Urgh...you mean that dress which had that "enter here"-sign on it?
