Is anyone watching it?

It's awfully slow but strangely compelling. My OH is losing patience however.

I've watched episode 1 just now on iplayer. It pissed me off. The DCI who attends as a first responder (in itself: :wtf: ) is a knob, I've never called anyone 'sir' so many times as those PCs did since I was at grammar school, and I've never been addressed as 'constable' by some snippy DCI. 'Mate' is usually fine.
And that little trick the DI played on the wife telling her one thing then denying all knowledge? Brilliant plan, except that all custody suites have A/V recording on every inch of the place for exactly that reason.

Now it's not the first show to get the jsutice system wrong, and I can look past that, but the woman who plays the wide was on This Morning, erm, this morning, talking about how it's supposed to be this great insight into the justice system and a woman's experience of it. So some attempt at accuracy would be nice.
Before we even got started, Joe QC would have got a disciplinary for the way he did that closing argument.

Ahem.

I didn't make it through the first episode, I didn't like any of the characters so didn't think it was worthwhile continuing to watch it.

Well I stuck it out for two episodes. Then I read a synopsis of the third and it looked so depressing I decided to skip it and probably tonight's and just go for the big showdown. It was clever the way they deliberately left a lot of things open to interpretation concerning the wife's plight. Was she provoked? Is it her husband's baby? All sorts. As regards all the unprofessional behaviour Cultcross, I think that dramatic licence aside they have consistently given out the message that the professionals are mostly all acting unprofessionally by taking sides. They keep asking each other why they have done this. Hopefully we'll get a sensible answer.

I might go back and finish the first episode and try and stick it out, because I keep thinking shows like this and The Wire and things I should like since low well plotted drama is what I prefer to wizz bang look at the shiny shiny rubbish, but I just didn't seem to be grabbed by either this or the Wire.

I keep meaning to watch ep 2 but i have been put off by the bent copper who they made out was going to lie and say he was in the canteen at 3am when they have just shown you the cell's have CCTV.
