It stretched credibility somewhat (real voyager jumped significantly towards home in Hope and Fear, Night, and Dark Frontier - the chance of Real and Goo Voyager being in the same sector in this episode is pretty much zero even with the 'enhanced warp drive' that was mentioned), but that can be overlooked due to the fact it was a good episode -- it's not the first coincidental meetup in trek history. It is frustrating that the logs weren't recovered, although perhaps the details about this enhanced warp drive that can knock 25+ years off the journey in a few months would have been far too powerful. It had been at least 9 months since Demon at this point (as Harper never had a baby on real voyager), so can't even suggest it should have been set before Hope+Fear
They could have made it darker of course - Naomi wasn't in this episode. Sure Harper had a baby off screen, but like Deadlock that doesn't really have the same impact as Neelix or Seven holding a dying 8 (5)-year-old.

I enjoy the episode and I actually like the ending. Voyager sometimes fell into the 'everything will be ok in the end' trap a bit too much and I remember when it was first aired being surprised that real Voyager ends up having no clue as to the fate of the duplicates. As far as they know they're still out there.
answer me this folks why do people say the silver blood memetic copying is any less implausible than DS9's changeling magic?
I like this episode a whole lot. I like how bleak the episode is and some ideas might be a bit rubbish or contrived but in pursuit of the story and the ending I don't mind it. I like that there is no happy ending.

I sometimes wonder about a happy ending that I had in my mind way back when, when I thought about how Living Witness also had a duplicate Doctor and I sometimes imagine this Doctor coming back in time to rescue/restore the duplicate crew and taking them forward to live with him in his time.

I think it's a great episode. I especially like how they make it look like Voyager's literally flying through the debris seconds after the duplicate falls apart, just to rub their noses in it. "Look at us, we're intact, ooh, what's this shit on the viewscreen" *casually turns on the wipers*
Seeing as the silver blood's enhanced warp drive could've gotten the real Voyager back to earth in a few years or whatever, those wipers rubbed off their ticket home with that shit on the viewscreen.
I don't recall stating an opinion when you first posted. Let me put it this way: I found a screenshot of a janeway chakotay dinner I didn't recognize...because it is to hard for me to watch. the episode is in oblivion to my memory. Except that neelix sad scene etched in my mind.
I'm fond of tragedies. Especially the "No one will ever know of the sacrifices you made. No one will know your story, of what you were, all alone in the dark." kind.

It had a Twilight Zone feel to it more than anything. All that happened and no one ever knew about it. It was more science fiction than any Trek episode IMO. Really an underrated episode.
Good episode, strong ending. Not all stories end happily, and this was one of the rare times Voyager dared to show that.
One of my favourite Voyager episodes. Unfortunately just like all Voyager episodes it suffers from the same flaw as the rest of the series: the incomprehensible need to go to the reset button.
A different ending would have made this even better, either by having surviving crew or by having the capsule reach the real Voyager and having an impact on the real crew for more than one episode.

I think it was done well. We saw them grow into the relationship, from starting a friendship to the flirtation and then to actually being in the relationship.In any case, it was a lovely gesture to their fans!
