What was the point of this episode then?

For the writers to have some disposable fun (with Janeway in particular)

It's the very embodiment of a Voyager reset episode. They can literally do whatever they want and it won't matter. Have Janeway marry Neelix.....have Harry Kung fu kick Chakotay in the balls.....Seven just randomly explodes into glitter

All meaningless (and yet they still made Janeway a self-righteous nut case ;))
Janeway's handling of the whole situation was terrible in that story plus we get to see how nasty Tom becomes when he realizes that they are all copies, well the death of B'Lana definitely had a devastating impact on him.

We got to see the real Tom. He thinks Janeway is an incompetent idiot. I will always cherish that reveal

True, he had no reason to hold anything back then.

I cherish Janeway but I'm not immune to throwing it all out there when I think I have nothing to lose. I'd probably done the same thing as Paris.

He starts questioning her decisions long before all hope is lost. He then queries why on earth they're still taking orders from her on the bridge later on (loudly as if to suggest to others......why are you still listening to this phoney and her crew risking ideas.....anyone got any balls?)

I re-watch Voyager once a year (roughly) and every time I do, I just find it harder and harder to like Janeway. Each viewing brings new evidence for the prosecution

I agree with the above comments but technically she isn't Janeway. I think the real one would have had some sense.

Janeway's clone inherited her stubbornness which rears its doubtful head from time to time. I'm not so sure she would have. I hope she would.

I don't get why she thought that reaching Earth would have stopped the degradation of their bodies.

did she think so?

She reminded me of that smart bomb episode. (Warhead I think) she wouldn't be stopped from completing her mission.

Yeah, because it was a BOMB, smart or not, bombs are supposed to ultimately explode, not spend their days keeping company to the doctor. As for Janeway she was neither smart nor a bomb in that episode. BTW, the bomb was a "he", what makes you call him a "she"?

I don't think Demon Janeway was thinking about slowing down the degradation at all. She seemed more concerned with reaching Earth than anything else.

Yes, and that seems rather shortsighted, not to mention a bit delusional. Is Janeway obsessive to the point of developing a psychosis?

I was using a comparison, Kirk fan. I was talking about Janeway. I was comparing her refusal to back down like a programmed bomb. they were all inevitably going to die under her.
btw, bomb was no he either. IT IS A BOMB.

Yes, but the Bomb was at least following its instructions. The first concern of a Captain is supposed to be the safety of her crew, everything else is secondary. Janeway is like a Bomb who would want to build a house or cook a meal.

Dreadnaught was an it, but it did have BeLanna's voice, and the programming she installed, which made it seem like it possessed a feminine personality.

:)
