Could Earth have offered resistance to a Dominion occupation?

Watching "sacrifice of angels" for the umpteenth time. However this time, I dwelled on Weyoun saying that if there would be organised resistance, it would be on Earth. How could this happen? Most non-starfleet personnel have probably never picked up a weapon, letalone organise a militia.

Earth could offer as much resistance as the writers deem worthy. On any given day, Earth has been easily attackable and well defended.

(And nice Karl Pilkington quote. He's so much smarter than people make him out to be.)

It would have begun with a new flavor of root beer.

Because as Simon Pegg said in "the worlds end"

"We don't like being told what to do"

The Vulcans would have perhaps submitted as it would logically result in fewer deaths and all the other species.....well they don't really matter, do they

Many of the people who resisted invasion and foreign occupation in our past never touched a weapon in their lives, with the right incentive you can learn quickly.

:)

Well assuming that Weyoun didn't forge ahead with his plan to eradicate the population initally. There might have become a point where they decided to eradicate the population anyway. It took them only a few hours to decide that after the Cardassians rebelled to eradicate the population. And got up to over 800 million in short order.

Weyoun would have done to Paris including the Palais de la Concorde and to Berlin, Tokyo, NYC etc. what he had already done to Lakarian City.

I can see Weyoun and his Jemmies on Earth, choosing the Neverland Ranch as operations center (to quote Weyoun: "I like playing games...")

Didn't the Founder and Weyoun basically say the first thing they'd do after conquering Earth was wipe out the population, because that's the first planet rebellion would arise?

Good thing a group of people took it upon themselves to infect the Dominion leadership, forcing them to come crawling to us for the cure.

:)

Andor probably would have given similar resistance, but we knew so little about Andor back then.

I imagine Betazed would just act like a planet of Trois.

*Jem'Hadar soldiers beam down and start vaporizing Betazoids left and right*

Entire populace: "We're sensing hostility. Don't trust them!"

Remember that Deana is half-Betazoid and only an empath. Full Betazoids are telepaths. They read minds not random emotional states. And they don't have interstellar ranges (except maybe over subspace radio). (Could telepaths even read Jem'Hadar minds?)

The fleet was off on a training mission because no one thought the Dominion would risk going the way they do to Betazed. Betazed defense systems were old and not setup to defend the planet against a Dominion attack, as they thought the planet was too deep in Federation space to worry about.

It is pretty funny. Although there was that (really bad) battle for betazoid novel where Lwaxana actually runs an underground resistance cell hiding away in the mountains.
Yeah...the less said about that the better.
Not that I don't think that Lwaxana can't stand up to the dominion. I just don't think she'd be the "mud and explosives" kind of freedom fighter who crawls around underground tunnels with a weapon in her hand.

Relax. It was a joke.
