Could becoming poop and a decayed corpse be essential to reincarnation

Re: Could becoming poop and a decayed corpse be essential to reincarna

You'll turn to goo instead of poop in a hermetically sealed coffin.

But at least it will be goo that's never touched an insect's lips.
Being a human is gross.

Fun, isn't it?

Are you still a human when you're dead? A philosophical question for the ages...
Is it? I'm pretty sure you'd just be a dead human.

Now, whether you are a person is a whole 'nother matter.

Re: Could becoming poop and a decayed corpse be essential to reincarna

 This is why I'll choose cremation for when I kick off.

Polluter. :p

And a rotting corpse in a leaking coffin ISN'T? :wtf:

Well, I guess the rotting corpse is actually good for the soil, whereas the burning must generate CO2. Though I guess there's a higher ecological footprint involved in making the coffin.

Besides, I'll instruct my relatives to scatter my ashes in a place where no one will notice them. ;)

Like a giant Where's Waldo game in the dirt.

I dunno; is a human a body or is it the combo of body and soul/consciousness? Do dead "humans" have human rights? Never really thought about this one properly...

Re: Could becoming poop and a decayed corpse be essential to reincarna

Are you saying we should give the dead and undead full voting rights?

Re: Could becoming poop and a decayed corpse be essential to reincarna

Then we'll have to deal with a brain tax or something ...

I guess I always just thought of "human" as a synonym for "homosapien." Dead or alive, it's still the name of the species.

Going by the general public these days, I think we're already there, and a significant number of people are hiding assets to evade the tax.

More of a gray market.

Re: Could becoming poop and a decayed corpse be essential to reincarna

Well ... the coffin would eventually rot. I mean, it's made out of wood.
I- don't know about where you are, but in some jurisdictions it's illegal to just bury the coffin. A larger concrete vault with a heavy concrete lid is required. The larger tub like base is placed in the grave before the service ready for the coffin to be lowered into it. The lid is lowered later before soil and sod are replaced. I've seen vaults equiped with a rubber (synthetic) seal that I suspect would complete a barrier between the deceased and any crawlies occupying the soil. There's still bacteria already present in the body and chemical reactions to break things down though. Embalming probably slows that process (and makes certain there aren't any "buried alive" incidents).

Also keep the Zombie Apocalypse at bay.
