Is it possible for a romance to develop between Garibaldi and Ivanova over the course of Babylon 5? From co-workers to friends to friends with some simmering unresolved romantic tension to full-on lovers.
Could a romance between Garibaldi and Ivanova ever happen?

I doubt it...since there are developments throughout the series that would prevent such a pairing in both the series run and Sleeping In Light. Funny you should bring this up though because after watching Chrysalis the first time and seeing Michael and Susan having dinner with Commander Sinclair I thought they'd make a good couple. Then the later seasons developed and well...shows how wrong I was haha.
Ivanova was an iron class bitch but with very nice borders, and it would only take a swooning englishman to break through. She and Garibaldi were too similar for it to work.
Ivanova and Garibaldi never occurred to me as a couple, and now I think about it I can't see it. That's doesn't mean that there isn't a possibility. I think they'd be bad for each other, though. They're both damaged and carrying a lot of baggage. *sigh* Reminds me that I need to get back to watching some B5.
Probably not - at least not if he heard about what she knew about with the smugglers (Racing Mars)

If Sheridan understood why Garibaldi was forced to do it Ivanova would too.
Apart from that i didn't see or "feel" any chemistry between them.. they were colleagues and liked each other on a personal level but they never hung out when off duty together without anyone else (at least we didn't see it).

If Sheridan understands it Ivanova has to? I don't think so. They do have separate minds. Sheridan was trying to be understanding even up to the point of being betrayed. Ivanova wasn't ready to be so accepting even at that point. Later when Garibaldi tried to contact her Marcus even tried to say "maybe there's an explanation" and Ivanova wouldn't hear of it.
I think Ivanova would have had Lochley's lines and plot concerning Michael for at least the first half of the fifth season where Elizabeth was riding him and Michael not trusting of her. Susan would have eventually forgiven him and probably understood after all she has had some interesting confrontations and past history with the Psi Corps. Maybe Michael would have recruited her into his little Bester hunt as well.
