So Cryptic just released a Saber Refit in STO called the di Vinci class.

Named after the ship from the novels and its console/special ability is inspired by something the ship did in the Destiny novels

This equipment draws inspiration for its name from a technique once developed by Starfleet Corps of Engineers, which caused the entire planet of Troyius to temporarily disappear from visuals and sensors. Now in STO’s timeline the Borg invasion of 2381 never happened. So the SCE must have done this for some other reason in this timeline. Maybe the 2409 Borg Invasion, or the Iconian War.

Not the first time the ship has been mentioned in STO, some early game patrol missions name dropped her a couple times and was referred to as a SCE ship, though she was never seen in the game.

Indeed. The only weird thing is that the new class is called Da Vinci instead of da Vinci.
I wonder if Sonya Gomez can still have been captain of the da Vinci in the new timeline?

At least in STO, Ezri Dax also became captain of the USS Aventine, despite the lack of Borg in 2381.
