Now in STO’s timeline the Borg invasion of 2381 never happened. So the SCE must have done this for some other reason in this timeline. Maybe the 2409 Borg Invasion, or the Iconian War. Indeed. The only weird thing is that the new class is called Da Vinci instead of da Vinci. I wonder if Sonya Gomez can still have been captain of the da Vinci in the new timeline? At least in STO, Ezri Dax also became captain of the USS Aventine, despite the lack of Borg in 2381.
