Cop/Detective Shows

Sherlock Holmes to solve the crime, Raylan Givens from Justified to bring him in, and Fitz from Cracker or Dr. Tony Hill from Wire in the Blood to make him confess. If all that fails, then leave him to Dexter.

I luv me some Tony Hill. I think him and Luther are probably my two favorite characters when it comes to crime drama.

In recent years I have been more of a fan of criminal shows than cop shows.
Leverage, Trailer Park Boys are two examples that come to mind.

The locked-room mysteries, like Jonathan Creek, are what I've always called "howdunits." I freaking LOVED that show. ;)

Why the past sense? -aren't you looking forward to the new ep?

Last I heard, Alan Davies said there WON'T be any new episodes.

Not a very reliable source, I know, but Wikipedia quotes Davies' Twitter-feed to the extent that there will be made one more episode next year.

I too loved this show for the reason you mention up-thread -and because it shows that you can make a crime-mystery very entertaining without blood and scarred bones :)

I will second the earlier suggestions of Bones and Murdoch Mysteries. Last I checked they are both on Netflix instant watch. I started watching Bones from the beginning last year, and it quickly became one of my favorite TV shows. A little slow in the first 4-5 episodes, but after that it really took off in my opinion.
