Cool New Fincher/Pitt Commercial

Not sure if any of you guys have seen this new spot Fincher and Pitt did for a Japanese cell phone maker, but is pretty sick.

What do you think? Me, I wish it was ten minutes long, I could watch this all day. So cool with the handheld and the amazing effects. Why can't they do commercials like that here??

Because they don't want domestic audiences to think they've sold out.

^ Isn't that where Fincher started his directing career, with commercials and music videos? How can he be "selling out" by continuing to make them?

Brad Pitt can't star in commercials here because part of his box office appeal is to maintain a "premium" image. William Shatner can make ads because he was never in the premium category (and the irony factor basically allows him to do anything and remain untouchable) but the likes of Brad Pitt doesn't have that flexibility.

Fincher can make all the ads he wants, nobody would know who made them. Depends on whether he's worth the expense.
