Confessions: You do it and you know it is bad

Beautiful! I love rabbits and hares.

That's bad and you know it :) Though galleries are great places to troll if feeling naughty.

I don't touch the paintings. I just touch the dinosaur bones and really super old statues.

I mean this bone was INSIDE a dinosaur millions of years ago, who wouldn't want to touch it?

Well, technically, that's a fossil that you're touching. And, the fossil is not the bone that was in the dinosaur. A fossil is a mineralized representation of biological remains.

Still, cool none the less!

Mr Awe

There's a guy that shows up at cons here dressed completely in a latex next gen uniform. It's enhanced by his terrible personal hygiene (really, you pray you are not sitting anywhere near him).

A friend said to me, that shouldn't be allowed to wear that at a convention. I was a little shocked when I first saw it. Plus I know who it is.

And on the library overdues - I've got three libraries that I won't get anything from ever again. One of them was over 15 years ago, when I didn't return a book. Two others in Sydney also. I think I owe around $30 to the library here in Newcastle, as I'm gonna return some stuff tomorrow.

I have absolutely no problem with the costume. It's kind of bondagy but if you didn't know what that was (ie if you brought your kid along to a con) you would not have a clue. But my god, why go to all that trouble and expense and not use deodorant or apparently wash?!

In college, I used to go back out to my car to eat lunch. Sometimes it would be a good three quarters of a mile walk to where I parked, but I didn't care. I just liked the feeling of crushing peoples hopes of finding a parking spot. That look of utter disappointment when they realized I wasn't leaving...It felt so good.

The fact that I myself had to wait for an hour to find that spot made it all the sweeter.

I used to turn in a few extra hours of work to my supervisor. They never ever got my paycheck right so I had to inflate it to just break ever.

One thing I can never get over is the poor hygiene I've encountered at conventions.

I've never been to a Trek convention, but I can rank (ha ha get it?) the types of conventions I've been to by their "funk factor":

Sex conventions: Not funky (everything smells like something, but not BO)
Comic book conventions (e.g. New York Comic Con): Not very funky
Anime conventions: Somewhat funky
Tabletop gaming conventions: Rather funky
Video game conventions: Maximum funk

This is in spite of convention programs almost always saying that you should shower every day. That they even have to mention this makes me go :wtf:.

Seriously, people. Bathe.

I was at a gaming convention once where they had these little containers of deodorizer. They just sat on each table, supposedly absorbing the stink. The room still smelled bad. I was only able to stand a few minutes of it. Gross.
