CONFESSIONAL thread (ANONYMOUS so tell us the juicy stuff!)

I've experienced recursive Deja Vu several-- heyyyy.

Sorry, but I have to confess to AstroSmurf, that when I first saw his Halloween fairy costume years ago, I thought it was a Talaxian costume.:o Sorry, my bad.

Actually I don't think I have ever posted a full picture of it here before. If you so the rest of it, including the big purple wings, you wouldn't have mistaken it for the JarJar Binks of Trek. :rommie:

And I have Deja Vu all the time. But I think mine is a little different than what the poster confessed to. I dream about doing things and then a week later I actually do them. I am a bit psychic/empathic anyway so it doesn't surprise me at all. Actually, come to think of it, most people were scared by The Sixth Sense and I thought it was another day at the office. Man I would love to put my skills to us on something like Ghost Hunters! That would rock.

As have I; once in a while. It can be very disorienting.

But the alarming phase only starts when you believe in reincarnation and learning life's lessons, and start to wonder whether it's a sign of you reliving your life again.

Err...I meant alarming more in the sense of wondering if I'm going mad. But then again, to believe in reincarnation, I might just have to be mad anyway.

I've experienced recursive Deja Vu several times.

A few more anonymous confessions:

Somehow I don't think that'll be a problem.

No it wouldn't and I am really confused. I thought my being a "Big Mo" was common knowledge but I am not all that feminine. (Don't get the wrong idea about the fairy costume kids. My being butch then wearing make-up and looking all girly was part of the big joke with that costume.) That could be throwing things off a bit. And I know for certain everyone knows about my being slutty. I advertise that. :rommie:

Unless the confessee meant that he didn't want to confuse Holdfast's crush lists. This would be before Holdfast talked about his amazing colour-coded spreadsheet!

I don't have deja vu much, But one time I was having a bizarre dream, and in the dream not only did I know it was a dream, I knew it was a dream I'd had before. I was freaked out for the whole day after that one!

OMG! You know, I'd like to call it one of my "supernatural" experiences, but I often have recurring dreams (about being in a familiar place, seeing different people and symbols again and again), and this is one of the things I like to talk about when we have these dream interpretation threads.

For the longest time, I used to dream of the house where I grew up in another country and seeing the livestock (pigs, specifically) that my family tended to when I was there. It was so strange. I always worried that they might be going hungry (the pigs, not my family) and nobody was cleaning up the pen.

Then sometimes I dream I work in this HUGE building (almost like a hospital in design, or even a hotel) with several floors and lots of elevators and the surrounding neighborhood. Funny thing is, in reality my workplace is only a nine-story building. In my dream sometimes I'm going to school with other people (former classmates, co-workers even) and occasionally all my officemates are there.

I've often dreamed of traveling to a distant place that looks like Las Vegas in a lot of ways (gigantic hotels, casinos, resorts) and being in a very large movie theater with lots of people, whom I hardly recognize. Truth is, I haven't really done a lot of traveling outside of California (besides Las Vegas).

And the weirdest and most recent recurring dream I have is moving into or living a big house with my relatives. The house looks familiar; it's almost like a combination of other houses I've lived in, with several bedrooms and bathrooms. Now here's the WEIRD part: I dream that whenever I go in the bathroom to take a shower (or use the toilet), there are these huge windows without curtains or blinds! So I feel conscious about using the bathroom for fear of being seen by outsiders. Wow.

I also experience the type of deja vu mentioned above. The "memory" of my actions doesn't just come up when the action is in progress, but also before hand.

I also have oddly recurring dreams. Every year for the past 4 or 5 years, I've had basically the same few dreams, at around the same time of year. One that always occurs right before the school year starts, involves me trying to find my locker on the third floor (my school has 2 stories...:wtf:), and not being able to input the combo, because that dreamy haze makes my eyes too heavy to keep open. A second regular dream that I have...oh, around November of each year, is one where my mother is trying to kill me. Now, I love my mother, and she'd never...try to kill me...(I've told her about these dreams, and she thinks they're quite amusing), but these dreams always happen. The exact details aren't always the same each time with this one, but the "plot" is always similar.

Fascinating. I'd be interested to know the symbols in these dreams and what they represent. Unfortunately, experts in the scientific community hardly ever consider dream interpretation to be, well, a science.

Maybe the first dream has to do with your anxieties, concerns about what the new school year will bring-just generally about going into a new situation that you're not completely sure about. Since you mentioned lockers I'm assuming that you're a high school student, otherwise I'd ask if you were sure about your particular major or course of study.

The second..hmmm, well being that it's before the holidays it's not too suprising that family stuff would come into your consiousness. Maybe you feel a lot of expectations or some pressure? Or dread spending so much time with your family..:klingon:

Now, a confession from a REAL man:

I was 15 when I lost my virginity. The problem is that I don't know who I lost it to. I was at a party at a female friend's house, got trashed and went to bed to sleep it off. Shortly thereafter the female friend appeared, stripped and climbed into bed with me. We ended up getting intimate in fairly short order. After a few minutes of "vigorous activity" she got up, put on her bathrobe and left the bedroom. A couple of minutes later a different girl appeared, got into bed and the "vigorous activity" resumed. So who did I lose my virginity to? The girl I started with? Or the girl I finished with?

That's called Lucid Dreaming!

When I was 17, I dated three women at the same time. None of them knew I was dating the others, and I managed to keep that going for six months until one moved away and the other found someone new. The third one I broke up with. To this day, none of them know, and I have managed to keep that secret for many years. What makes that feat so special to me? They were all sisters.

Think I can one up you - I dated a girl and cheated with her twin sister. Now that took some doing.

Ah, but how do you know?

Yeah, and in the rare instances when I dream (or, obviously, when I remember my dreams after waking up), it's usually lucid dreaming. I can't remember the last time I dreamed without knowing it was a dream.

I suppose my mind is so much in control that even my subconscious knows it should not mess with me.

Different haircuts. But true....how could I really know?

My first feeling is ew. My second thought is at least you didn't hit on their mom-or dad...or did you?? :vulcan:

I haven't had one in a long time.
I wonder if anyone is ever able to direct what happens or where they go moreso than in a typical dream. Usually I was just so amazed that it was happening that I didn't try anything too interesting.
