I thought it was pretty funny. It's an easy joke, but he makes it work with his delivery. Very few comedians have as a strong a sense of comedic timing as he does.

With his ratings I don't think we have to worry very much about him hurting the image of ST fans. Now that David Letterman. I bet people are really watching him. ... His wife. ... Her private detective. ... Husbands and boyfriends of all the women on his staff. ... Yep. Watching him close they are.

Ummm...I think Shatner's SNL skit was great. I was a fan back in the 70s, and 80s. I went to many conventions and I hate to say it? He was right..and still is. Some of these fan sites, not TREKBBS of course (wink wink) have some very, how shall I put it, interesting people on them who claim to be fans....
