Coming in 4K - Star Trek's 1-IV??

I'm wondering if the DE changed their plan a little from the rumor before of three sets, 1-4, 5-7, 8-10, and instead 1-4, TMPDE/5/6, 7-10, which is probably an easier sell, in terms of branding, rather than splitting the TNG movies.

I personally would not pay money to get V in 4K, having it sold separate from VI would be a huge plus. As for the TNG films, The only one I really want is FC. I guess I could watch GEN & INS again, but I would never pay money to get NEM in 4K (cringe). V & NEM are on my list of movies never pay money to watch again…(unless I am forced to buy as a bundle)

Even with the new version? They did that for TWOK - TVH, but those films didn't change.

I would expect them to treat the 2022 Director's Edition as a separate film from the 2001 Director's Cut, since the content of the film itself changed, not just the resolution.

But hey' I'd be even happier if I'm wrong.

Yeah I'd be surprised if the TMP DE is upgraded for free - it's currently an SD-only extra with the theatrical version.

I'm guessing the new version will be a separate purchase, but I'd love to be pleasantly surprised.

To paraphrase Scotty:

“We have just spent eighteen months redesigning and refitting the movie. How in the name of hell do they expect Paramount to have her ready for free?”

Oh apologies. I was referring to the original versions of V-X. The DE is a different beast and will need to be purchased again.

Yeah, I almost feel guilty! I bought the ten-film bundle on iTunes when it was down to a tenner and now I'm getting all the 4Ks for nothing.

I know I should be buying the discs to support the range, but I'm holding out for the inevitable boxset of the TOS films.
