I'm wondering if the DE changed their plan a little from the rumor before of three sets, 1-4, 5-7, 8-10, and instead 1-4, TMPDE/5/6, 7-10, which is probably an easier sell, in terms of branding, rather than splitting the TNG movies.
I wonder if the release of the DE changed Paramount’s planning on how to release the box sets from the groupings that were rumored earlier. The DE team planned nothing. Paramount plans how the 4Ks will be released.

If you own them on iTunes in HD on iTunes already, they will upgrade to 4K at no extra costWaiting for the iTunes release - it'll be my third time buying the film on that platform.
Oh apologies. I was referring to the original versions of V-X. The DE is a different beast and will need to be purchased again.Even with the new version? They did that for TWOK - TVH, but those films didn't change.
I would expect them to treat the 2022 Director's Edition as a separate film from the 2001 Director's Cut, since the content of the film itself changed, not just the resolution.
But hey' I'd be even happier if I'm wrong.
