That 70 ton number is too low for any superstrong guy. A M-1 U.S. Army tank weighs 70 tons. Those guys toss around tanks with ease. Ships get really gigantic when it comes to tonnage. If a super hero is tossing them around then he really is mega strong.

Well those numbers and those feats never quite match up. What number could you put that would explain how Hulk can hold up an entire mountain range or Hercules can tow the entire island of Manhattan?

Hulk in WWH was nonsense for the feats he could do. I maintain that the Black Bolt he took down was a Skrull imposter. And beating Doctor Strange? Really? The man who's tasked with holding back Cthulu-style horrors from ever reaching our reality? The whole thing was a big case of Strange gazing deeply into the Idiot Ball when he could have (or at least should had) just as easily teleported Hulk somewhere out of the way until he calmed down instead of channeling a demon and going mano a mano.

Also, IIRC his "defeat" of Juggernaut was to get out of the way and let Jugs run so far away he was effectively removed from the battlefield for the forseeable future.

I am surprised that Colossus is now stronger than Ben Grimm, I always thought Piotr emphasized the defensive/endurance more than the raw strength, but I like it.

Ultimate Hulk's basically the animal side of Banner let loose. All he wants is sex with Betty, food and to kill people.

Which I think is grossly missing the point of the character. He's supposed to be a frustrated child in a giant's body, more sympathetic than scary. The Ultimate version is just gratuitously evil. I mean, from what I've read about the character (I haven't actually read the comics and have no desire to), the Ultimate Hulk isn't just a murderer, but a cannibal. That's just disgusting. Why would anyone want to see that in a comic book?

Hulk ate Herr Kleiser, the Chitauri alien who merely looked human.

Colossus' actual strength is conjectural. We don't see him use his strength all that much in the comics, we don't see him lift trucks, demolish buildings with his bare hands, throw cars around. He is mostly used as a brawler, the muscles of the team, and you'd be hard pressed to come up with enough examples of his feats of strength to compare Colossus with Ben Grimm.

When all is said and done, the character himself is not much more interesting. He's been around for thirty years, and he's still the "big guy with a heart of gold". Writers have nothing to say about him. He's a good guy who punches bad guys.

The finally-legal relationship between Colossus and Kitty Pryde might've gone somewhere interesting, if Joss Whedon hadn't done the Joss Whedon thing.

Erm, exactly ? That's what made him that much more dangerous, his plan was a lot smarter than "HULK SMASH!".

In the end, he fought the Sentry to a standstill. Colossus and Thing aren't ever going to do that.

I started looking through the 74 pages. Many of the picture links were closed on the early pages. Mostly Colossus is whipping somebody's ass and not really lifting anything. Venom was fighting Colossus, but Venom is a guy that fights Spiderman. That shouldn't be a contest on two levels. Venom wouldn't have the strength or he would kill Spiderman with one punch. Venom would be too fast for Colossus to hit or he wouldn't be a challenge for Spiderman.

If Thing is weaker than Colossus then that really sucks to be the Thing.

On the subject of relative strength levels... is a given person always uniformly strong? If one character is able to hold his own against another who's supposedly considerably stronger, maybe it's because the stronger character is ill or recovering from an injury or just having an off day. Or maybe the weaker character is really passionate about his cause and is going all-out while the stronger character is holding back because it's not all that important to him.

IIRC, this is confirmed in the Secret Invasion: Inhumans series. I believe the actual point in the timeline of the abduction was just after Silent War and just before WWH.
