What is the most you have seen Colossus lift in a comic book? Has he lifted an entire building or mountains. Can he lift a battleship? I've seen him toss around tanks and rip them up, but that was along time ago. how strong is he now?
Impressive.Ultimate Colossus dragged a Russian submarine off the sea-bed after it ran aground in 'World Tour'
If I correctly recall the first Marvel Handbook, Colossus is ranked below The Thing, who in turn is below Hulk, Thor and Hercules.I recall it being said in one of the comics that he was stronger than The Thing when in his transformed form.
6 = Superhuman: Able to lift over 75 tons, up to 100 tons.
7 = Incalculable: Able to lift in excess of 100 tons.
Ben Grimm did seem to enjoy relative parity with the Hulk for many years. But then writers started inflating Hulk's power beyond all reason (if "reason" applies in superhero comics, of course). By the time of World War Hulk, the Hulk was brushing off Ben's punches as though they were puffs of smoke.Colossus: Strength level 7
Ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing: Strength level 6
Hulk: Strength level 7

I'm surprised. I never would've guessed Colossus was stronger than Ben Grimm. I figured that Benjy was right up there with the Hulk, given how many indecisive battles they've had.
^That's one reason I've never much cared for the comic-book version of the Hulk. As I understand it, he gets stronger as he gets angrier, with no theoretical upper limit. That basically means he's impossible to defeat -- so how can he ever be in danger? How can we root for him or worry about him if his victory is always inevitable?
Ultimate Hulk's basically the animal side of Banner let loose. All he wants is sex with Betty, food and to kill people.

I had always understood that their "official" strength levels were:
Colossus-Press 70 tons
Thing- Press 85 tons
Hulk- Press 100+ tons
It's interesting that a Superman clone was needed to subdue the Hulk.I had always understood that their "official" strength levels were:

World War Hulk rewrote that, plus it's generally accepted that Colossus is stronger than the Thing now.
World War Hulk arguably put the Hulk at the top of the tree as far as Earth-based Heroes go. Though the subsequent Hulk book has reduced him somewhat once again, possibly because he's not as angry as he was there.
Let's put it this way - in WWH, Hulk thrashed Black Bolt (who was probably number two behind The Sentry at that point, although he may have been a Skrull impostor), the Mighty Avengers (Ms. Marvel, Ares, Black Widow, Wonder Man and Wasp), She Hulk, the New Avengers (specifically Spider-Man, Spider-Woman and Luke Cage), Iron Man (in Hulkbuster armour), the Fantastic Four (plus temporary members Storm and Black Panther), the X-Men (as in all of them, pretty much every remaining heroic mutant left), Juggernaut, a huge chunk of the United States Army, Doctor Strange (even after channeling the demon Zom) and finally fights The Sentry to a standstill.
It's interesting that a Superman clone was needed to subdue the Hulk.
"The power of a million exploding suns" sounds like public relations, not physics. It's interesting that a Superman clone was needed to subdue the Hulk.
Yes, it's even gotten to the point now where every storyline seems to have to explain why Bob doesn't just go and fix it like they had to in World War Hulk. I mean the guy's wife was killed so he just decided that she was still alive and then she was.
Though I'd argue that the Sentry is perhaps more even powerful than Superman. The power of Earth's yellow sun versus the power of a million exploding suns ?
(The guy must be that powerful - even Namor knew to shut up and do as he was told when Osborn showed he had Bob backing him up.)
