Colony Season 2 Discussion Thread

So who is the red hand resistance? The cops/politicians trying to make Resistance 1.0 look bad and make people turn on them (which would make Will's new partner absolutely 100% part of it)? Or some actual genuine badder guys?

What internet and wifi? The only people with computer access have been part of the occupation. The resistance seems to have a few stand alone computers, but no indication of internet.

isn't that how the stick camera transmits it's images is through the Internet?

Just watched all 7 episodes from season 2 in 1 day. Phew.
Glad I watched them all at once, because as others have mentioned in this thread, this show isn't exactly flying along.

So there's an embedded countdown in the signal. Now where have I heard that one before?

Of course the countdown is for more than 2 years away, and at the pace this show moves, that could be 10 seasons.

We got another glimpse at one of those launchpads/bases/platforms/whatevers that we saw in the Swiss Alps a few episodes ago. And it was cool to see that spaceship blow up. I liked the way they showed everybody watching it. Though thats the type of thing that ought to get the LA bloc wiped off the map.

And speaking of the Swiss Alps, it was tough not to think of space nazis when the bad guys were looking for that one scientist's mom in England a few episodes ago. Why were the Germans in England?

Anyways, glad I chugged all 7 episodes in one day. I'll be back for the eighth next week.

Yeah, the writers are really going to have to justify LA not being 'glassed' after this incident. We know that human council almost pulled the trigger after the abduction.

Side note: I thought it was funny having two incidents (in one episode) in which some woman has sex with a guy to convince them to do something really dangerous and stupid. Whoever wrote this episode has issues with women.

I wonder if this season is about to pick up speed in terms of plotting? On can hope and there were a few positive signs.

Also, it seems like the family's new plan is to get out of the block. That sounds cool. They might actually glass LA after the family escapes. That could be a dramatic season finale. I hope they continue to pick up the pace on developments. I enjoyed the latest episode more than any of the other 2nd season episodes.

Will does know where Bo's secret cabin is, right? ANd if they don't want to pay Carl Weathers, they migh do what they did with WIll's pre-invasion partner -- appear for a couple episodes, and then suddenly die.

^ That would be a cool direction to go in. I think getting the family out of LA, shoot, out of any "colony" is the only viable option given the countdown! Survival in the outside areas where they can monitor the Raps would be a cool direction for the series. I thought they were heading that way last year when Bram found the secret tunnel out but alas no, just more family melodrama.

Well, Snyder indicated that it was a bad idea to be outside the walls. We still don't know what that means (beyond the fact that there does not appear to be any human life for miles around).

^ But, it sounds like it's worse to stay inside the walls! Of course, the face of the occupation will state that it's bad to go outside the occupations jurisdiction! They don't want to have to commit resources to monitoring those areas. Will was able to travel outside the walls on 2 occasions without difficulty. The hardest part for him was getting outside Santa Monica without the proper document! Traveling between wasn't show but didn't seem difficult.

Even though life outside the walls might be tough, they're doomed if they stay inside!

Synder said it in a more private moment. He seemed genuinely scared at the idea of being outside the walls. It doesn't sound as if anywhere is safe.

^ That's probably what he was told during his training/indoctrination by the Raps!

We saw Snyder and the boss guard watching something from the watchtower at the workcamp. I don't think it was clear exactly what it was, but it may have been the drones exterminating anybody that didn't belong. Maybe.

I don't remember seeing wild humans? Just abandoned buildings and lots of cars. Inside the block, you've got guaranteed death within about 2 years!

I meant like where Will's youngest son was found...we don't have details, but presumably he was molested in the year he spent outside the wall.

Warlords have taken over , and so there is no sense of safety....

Will's son wasn't outside the walls. He was in the Santa Monica colony that has degenerated into anarchy.

It seems Snyder's approach was more rational and kept everyone under control much more than whoever oversees Santa Monica. That colony only safeguards the green zone, and the rest has simply gone to hell.

So, are those in the Green Zone getting transported off Earth? Those capsules are definitely designed to transport humans. Who are the "lucky" ones that get to leave Earth while the rest are burned through like fodder?

What is the factory? Is it literally a factory where something is being made? Is that just a slang term for... something?

Why would the Raps need to include a countdown clock in every transmission?

Oh, that wasn't in the area between blocks. That was in a different block, the Santa Monica block. That's why they had to climb over the walls of the Santa Monica block to get out.
