Colin Baker in Doctors

Channel Five doesn't carry the stigma it used to. Especially since they started just calling it Five.

Neighbours is the best thing on it, mind.
what about now its called Channel 5 again?
What, have they changed it back again? What a waste of money. They may as well call it The Neighbours Channel.

As I said there are better things on Channel 5 than Neighbours. It aired that K9 series over Christmas ;)

Yeah, but what does it show that's better than Neighbours?

In fairness to Neighbours, it really is quite good at the moment. I know it sounds a damn fool thing to say about a show with its reputation, but I grew up on it and can tell good Neighbours from bad Neighbours.

alot of us grow up on Neighbours, ok some of us grown up on Home & Away, but those are ITV viewers who would rather watch X-Factor than Doctor Who. Im getting side tracked.

Channel 5 has loads of better shows, CSI, NCIS, The Mentalist (ok so I like Channel 5, when it thinks it CBS), Daytime also has The Wright Stuff and Thomas The Tank Engine.

All good shows, most at least as good or better than Neighbours.

Heck come to think of it Home & Away is on Channel 5 now.

This has gotten off topic, if you wish to discuss Channel 5 shows that are better than Neighbours PM me.

To drag this thread back on topic, Grace from The Mentalist would make an excellent Amy Pond in a US version of Doctor Who, with Matthew Gray Gubler being the US 11th Doctor.

Um, that's not the topic either. It was about Colin Baker appearing in Doctors, not who would you cast in a US remake.

*Wants to see Bones' reaction:

So, do you think when they were making this episode of Doctors, someone considered casting Colin as a member of staff, then said 'Nah, he's not at all credible as a Doctor!'?

Give it another 12 months and it will be back - Channel Five's new owner the pornographer Dirty Des is intend on turning it into a TV version of the Daily Star.

No, they have a full cast so the idea of him being a regular doctor wouldn't have been put forward. Though I reckon he'd do a good job as an old-fashioned and blustery GP, but they already have a character in it like that.

It even has Thomas The Tank Engine now.

And they've ruined it.
oh I completey disagree, the CGI is excellent for the series, however I am left wondering where this Misty Island stuff has come from all of a sudden.

Moving on the reason the CGI is so great is that the humans can be seen so much better, ill give an example.

In a recent episode, Thomas was having a new whistle fitted, but like the impatient little Tank Enginge that he is, couldnt wait for the job to be finished. So he steams away.

If that was done woth models, it will be exactly how you are pitcuring it, but done with CGI models, you see the workmen fall off Thomas as he steams away.

The models were nice, and watching it you were impressed at what was done, but with CGI you can see so much more, it has bought alot more character to the show, and given the shows producers a way to make the show more detailed.

----

ok so that was very off topic

I cannot believe someone just claimed CGI Thomas the Tank isn't shit compared to the one with models. Then again, it's been rubbish since they ran out of books to adapt anyway.

I have an idea to keep vaguely on topic - which Doctors would you like to see show up on a soap (any soap) and why?

I'd like to see the Fifth Doctor show up on Eastenders (I know they all did, but still). Phil Mitchell would beat him 'round the Square. The Ninth Doctor showing up on his native Corrie (lots of planets have a shit long running soap) and punching the regulars over the bar would be entertaining too.

This is so obvious I don't know why it hasn't been done already!
