"I think people are going to be very excited," he said, offering a sneak preview. "It's a teaser, you know, it's a teaser trailer. But still, I was like ‘Wow!' Just the scope of it, the scale of it, you just look at it and it's so elegantly done."

"It's one of those things where J.J. has a lot of ideas come out of the fact that he has a very simple, forceful way to express himself while capturing people's imaginations. I think what he and his producers are doing with the trailer is fantastic; this is a great way to reboot the franchise, and get people excited about something new."

"That's what excited me about seeing the trailer, was that I thought ‘Well, this does look completely different and new,'" he said. "But while having all the stuff that will make fans of ‘Star Trek' still feel fulfilled."

"I've seen little bits of the movie too, and I feel that way as well," the director said. "He's doing an amazing job; it's very exciting. It's not your grandfather's Star Trek, that's for sure."

So...

Comments?

MODS: I am not using this to flame or troll. Now that it's officially confirmed, we're beyond that point. I'd like for people to discuss now what they'd want from the reboot, or what they would do if they were rebooting the franchise.

Star Trek 2.0 lives!

By the way, Matt Reeves if you're reading this: Check's in the mail!

Re: Cloverfield Director Says Star Trek is a great way to REBOOT

No good can come of this thread.

Now where did I put that popcorn?

Re: Cloverfield Director Says Star Trek is a great way to REBOOT

Stig, you're wrong... There can and will be no argument anymore. This thread will be fine.

Now we move on and discuss the reboot and what we think will happen in it.

Re: Cloverfield Director Says Star Trek is a great way to REBOOT

What do you do when your computer is running slowly or not running well? You reboot it. You turn it off, turn it back on, and things are going again. It's still the same old computer, with the same old functions, and the same old look. Just revitalised. JJ & company are just turning Star Trek back on.

^^^
No arguments? Just because some guy not associated with the Star Trek movie says 'reboot' doesn't mean a thing.

Wow, this thread is redundant already!

Re: Cloverfield Director Says Star Trek is a great way to REBOOT

This is just being provocative, again.

The "Cloverfield" director's use of "reboot" is no more official than someone posting as a fan on this BBS. He's not working on Trek and there's no evidence whatever that he knows more about it than having seen the trailer.

Matt, you have been told over and over and over and OVER to stop harping on this topic.

You now have a warning for trolling.

And since ALL of the mods in here have been telling you over and over to stop harping on this topic, there is no point in doing the PM thing.

Comments to MA. We are tired of messing with you and this issue.
