Classic Final Scene?

Well firstly, the Guardian nonsense was just rumors. It didn't come from the studio. That said, here are some direct quotes from the chat transcript, from actual cast and crew, not Trekmovie staff:

JJ: Spock is HERE, right now. I can see him. Uhura and Bones and Chekov and Sulu and Scotty are ON THE BRIDGE and they are wonderful.

Roberto Orci: Just to set the scene a bit, call time today was 1 PM. So JJ is setting up his first shot right now on the bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise — bear with us…

Quinto: .literally shooting the final scene of the movie as i type (of course we shoot out of order - there are more than two months of shooting still to go). so we are getting close to finishing all of our principal photography on the actual bridge of the enterprise (and scott chambliss has made it come alive like you won’t believe)

So, to sum up: They were shooting on the bridge set during the chat. The photo we see was taken while JJ was doing the chat. Sorta obvious conclusion? The photo is of JJ on the bridge set.

The above shows that the final scene is on the bridge. In TOS, a classic way to end each episode was with some dialog between Kirk, Spock and McCoy - sometimes with others too. It was often a joke at Spock's expense, with McCoy and Kirk laughing. Then a parting shot of the Enterprise warping away was shown on the television screen. Three of the movies also end this way too (1,4,6). Do you think the new film will also end with the Spock-joke then Kirk ordering the Enterprise toward her next adventure?

Im kind of hoping for a thread that will lead to the next movie, like what Batman Begins did ending with the hint of a new villian called The Joker.

It wasn't a cliffhanger which is great but it said the the audience 'expect more'.

Like SoS said, a thread for a next movie would be great. I also liked how Casino Royale (another apt "reboot") ended; 007 had just really become himself, and he had a clear motivation for the next film.
